About Shut Eye

A childs mind can be quite innocent and yet troubling. Take control of a young child as she spends the week away from her parents in a place away from home.

Keep her safe and awake, as things there may go bump in the night. These toys are out to play, but the question is are they real or is this just the innocent mind of a child.

You play as a young child, who is away from her parents as they are on a much needed holiday. The young child has suffered from anxiety most of her life, which leads to confusion and an over active imagination.

Which leads to trouble for the character when the light goes out an the moon comes out.

You must survive the nights an keep your aniexty down, as through out the night you will experience the mind of an over active childs imagination.

Each night you may encounter different types of creatures. But don't let their cuteness fool you. As the higher you aniexty goes the harder things become.

Keep her calm. Keep her safe. Keep her in the light.

This game is a quirky, yet solid, entry into the horror genre. Most of the time in horror games you are used to being chased around dark and strange locations by monsters, but in this game you stay stationary while the monsters come to you. The game is very short, but I found it kind of intense. The graphics are decent, pretty much the usual graphics for this kind of game. You play as a small girl who is sleeping somewhere away from home, probably a relative's house, while her parents are away on vacation. The girl suffers from high anxiety, which also helps to spur her over-active imagination. There are 3 teddy bears which are out to get her... or are they? Are these teddy bears really demonically possessed, or is this little girl just imagining things? The bears move around, usually closer, when you are not looking at them. When you ARE looking at them, they will only move in place. They won't come closer until you turn away. Thus, your head needs to be on a swivel. You must constantly be looking left, looking right, looking under your bed, climbing up to look at the top bunk, and getting up to turn on the porch light. The worst part of this game is the camera bob. …

Shut Eye is a small indie horror game that really leans into psychological tension rather than traditional scares, and when it works, it actually creates a pretty unsettling experience. You play as a young child left alone in a strange place, trying to survive the night while managing anxiety and keeping your “calm” under control. The main twist is that fear itself becomes part of the gameplay - as your anxiety rises, reality starts to distort and harmless things can suddenly feel threatening. That mechanic is honestly the strongest part of the game. It creates this constant uncertainty where you’re never fully sure if what you’re seeing is real or just the character’s imagination. It gives the whole experience a paranoid, uneasy tone that fits the concept really well. The problem is that the game doesn’t evolve much beyond that idea. Each night tends to follow a very similar structure, and once you understand how to manage anxiety and respond to threats, the tension starts to fade. Instead of growing into something deeper, it mostly repeats its core loop with minor variations. Still, there’s a certain charm in its simplicity. The minimalist visuals, quiet atmosphere, and restra…

Shut Eye, developed by HUSH Interactive and published by Forever Entertainment S.A., is a psychological horror experience that trades traditional action and exploration for a more intimate, anxiety-driven gameplay loop. Instead of placing players in a sprawling haunted environment, the game confines its tension to a small, personal space and builds its identity around the fragile emotional state of a child left alone at night. The premise is simple but effective: you are not fighting monsters in the conventional sense—you are trying to survive the creeping manifestations of fear itself. The gameplay centers on enduring multiple nights while managing the young protagonist’s anxiety, which functions as the game’s most important mechanic. Fear is not just thematic here; it directly shapes the experience. As anxiety levels rise, the environment begins to distort, and harmless objects can transform into perceived threats. This creates a constant push-and-pull dynamic where players must remain vigilant, balancing awareness of their surroundings with the need to keep the character calm. It’s an interesting concept that ties emotional vulnerability to gameplay consequences, making every s…
