I'm probably one of five people who actually remember this game beyond it somehow being the first game made in Unreal Engine 4. It sucks. The gameplay is linear and boring, the monsters aren't scary and you will only die if you let yourself, there's barely any audio, the story makes no sense and the ending is forgettable. I beat it in under an hour. It's shocking this game was published by Atlas and it's solely remembered because of its engine and publisher. Not even PewDiePie playing it back then let to people remembering it. 2/10

The Good: Daylight establishes a solid atmospheric foundation with effective lighting effects, unsettling audio design, and well-crafted story fragments that gradually unveil an intriguing mystery. The contemporary smartphone flashlight mechanic adds a modern touch to the horror experience, and the later forest environments demonstrate the game's unrealized potential. The Bad: The procedurally generated hospital sections suffer from poor level design that leads to aimless wandering and mounting frustration. What starts as effective atmospheric horror quickly devolves into predictable, repetitive jump scares that lose their impact. Enemies become mere obstacles rather than genuine threats, while tedious box-pushing puzzles feel like transparent padding. Technical issues and performance problems further undermine the experience, and the lack of clear direction kills momentum before the game finds its footing. Bottom Line: Daylight squanders its promising horror foundation through weak gameplay mechanics, unoriginal design choices, and repetitive exploration that prioritizes cheap scares over substance. While the initial atmosphere impresses, the game's reliance on formulaic hor…
Decent Slender Inspired Game
The 2010s had a lot of these Slendy type games, Some of them struggled to have it's own identity due to the game they got the inspiration from, This one falls into that category. I'm also surprised that this was originally published by Atlus, yeah THAT Atlus. Playing it was very familiar to me since these old games play and feel very similar to each other, So it was really easy for me to adapt. As for difficulty, Played it in Normal and it wasn't that bad, Mainly to get through the story and get as much collectibles as i could on my play-through. The game itself was also very short, Completed it in 5 hrs more or less, But i bet if someone else gives it a try they can beat it in less! Despite some of the negativity that this game got almost a decade ago it isn't that bad, Yeah it's a little dated but still can be enjoyable for some. It's also very cheap so if you want to give it a try, Go ahead! Just keep in mind what type of game is this before doing so.
