About Dark Night
Dark Night is an indie horror game that takes place in your house.
Welcome home Amelia, familiar eyes are watching you, and they want to play.
Home alone you can feel them. You can hear their footsteps. You need to move.
You have limited visibility. Light a matchstick to see in the dark. Close your eyes. Listen. They’re behind you.
The time you have is no longer your own. You need to survive.
Start begging for your life. Can you make it?
Gameplay Description:
You wake up at 1am, woken by strange sounds and stirring shadows. You light matchsticks to help see into the dark, that feels as though it’s engulfing you by the second. The floorboards creak as you walk on them, the silence around you being almost deafening. You call out to someone, but receive no answer. A chill runs down your spine and you venture out of your bed room, the walls around you feel as though they are closing in around you. You see a lone key sitting on a chair in front of you. As you pick it up however you feel a presence in the dark staring at you, waiting patiently for the right time to strike. You need to keep moving and wind a music box to keep the enemies away, however there is a doll waiting to awake from it's sleep...

Dark night, more like boring night .... as others have pointed out, what's with the text in the settings? None of it makes sense, and looks like an attempt to translate things into English, but ended up looking like nonsensical words. The controls works, but CTRL (to hear better) is prob one of the most useless aspects of the game. Not to mention, the gameplay itself is boring and uneventful. The "jumpscare" itself isn't even horrifying, more like ear-rape with some crappy 3D doll looking figure popping up on your screen that you can literally turn away from lol. I spent a good 5-10 minutes just running around the room with a music box until I ran out of matches. The tutorial mentions we can pick up more around the house, and I've found a few but how to interact/collect them? The instructions failed at clarifying that important function. That being said, I don't recommend playing Dark Night - it just feels like an asset flip turned into a poorly developed horror game.4 found this helpful
Dark Night, developed and published by NighthoodGames, is a compact first-person horror experience that builds its identity around vulnerability, limited visibility, and the fear of the unknown. Rather than relying on complex mechanics or an expansive narrative, it focuses on a single setting and a tightly controlled atmosphere, placing the player in a situation where awareness and caution are far more important than action. The premise is simple but effective. You take on the role of a character who wakes in the middle of the night to unsettling sounds and an oppressive sense that something is not right. From the outset, the game establishes a tone of unease, using silence and darkness as its primary tools. The environment—a house that should feel familiar and safe—is transformed into a space of uncertainty, where every corner and hallway carries the possibility of danger. This contrast between the ordinary setting and the underlying threat is one of the game’s more effective elements. Gameplay is intentionally minimal, centering on exploration and survival. Movement is slow and deliberate, encouraging players to pay close attention to their surroundings. Light is a scarce resou…1 found this helpful
Dark night is a horror game with some of the most disgusting visuals I have ever seen. Not disgusting by design, but disgusting because whoever made this CLEARLY didn't understand how to use normal maps, the textures that give depth to the objects in games. In this game, you have to survive against a monster and find your father who is on the second floor. The matchsticks barley show you anything, so that's already a no-go, and its nearly impossible to navigate because of that. I wonder if this was done intentionally because the people who developed this had no idea how to make a game scary other than "Just make the game pitch black". This is garbage.1 found this helpful
