Overgrowth

I really wish they'd make another Overgrowth. What's here is 2 things. On the one hand, it's very pretty, an intriguing world, and a game that's unlike anything else. It's technically super impressive, and the feedback in combat feelsso solid and has amazing moments. The animations are so fluid and lifelike it's stunning. I can't think of anything comparable. GTA NPCs are plastic action figures by comparison. On the other hand, it's annoying to parkour and move around, and the combat feels random and not very skill based, and the levels take ages to load and feel weird and technically archaic. It's weird that Overgrowth can be both, but I think the ideas and technology are really standout. There's a few things I would love to see, and be willing to pay for. First is a bit of a revamp to the combat system (again). In theory it would be good to throw out quick jabs, but the trigger is range based and feels random. Blocking sometimes doesn't work - because it's physics based. It feels good to roundhouse a guy so hard through his arms he just collapses, but it also feels bad to try everything and just be perfectly blocked. There's not really any high-low, strike-throw, footsies…

Great game! goof looking character models, decent story and people to love and hate, the fighting is quiet good but one of the few complaints would be some of the parkour is extremely rough/difficult. I would love to see another game in this franchise. 8/10
