SUMMARY

An isolated live-in institution...
With no contact with the outside world...
Home to a population of girls who never die.

Whenever they grow up, they start aging back down until they are babies again, then grow once more in a neverending cycle.

There’s only one way to graduate.
One must be recognized as a genius by some observing entity on the outside.
The moment such an acknowledgement takes place, the girl in question graduates and disappears from the institute.

And so, a sudden murder is enough to turn their immortal lives upside down.

Why do the girls never die?
Why do they grow older, then younger in reverse?
How long have they spent within these walls?
How can they be brought back from decapitation?
What happens to the girls who fail to prove their genius?
What has become of the world outside?
Why is there no one but girls in the institute?
Where are the men?
What is death?
What is life?
Humanity?

For what purpose were we born?

No key to this mystery—but there is a needle.

Wool needle, knitting needle, sewing machine needle.
Silk needle, stitching needle, injection needle.
Futon needle, clothing needle, hook for a fish.
Marking pin, headpin, indicator pin, leatherwork needle.

Follow the needles to your immortal death.

[後半に日本語レビューあり]
Yuri and Futanari H in an Immortal-Girl Denpa SF Mystery VN
A denpa school SF mystery VN set in an isolated academy where immortal girls live under rules that bend ordinary morality. Yuuhi Soraoka turns amateur detective after the headless body of Shihon Shimoyuki, her closest friend and partner, is found. Death is normally reversible here, but Shihon's missing head creates a real deadline. Cute school life quickly gives way to a murder case. The setting gets stranger from there. The girls grow older, then age backward into babies before growing up again. The only way out is to be judged a genius by an unknown observer and "graduate." Questions about immortality, the absence of men and the outside world push a local case into larger SF territory, with many kinds of needles linking the mysteries. As a galge, the cast is wonderfully eccentric. Shihon clings to Yuuhi with open affection; lively Torineko becomes her assistant; killer Yukari offers advice from a murderer's perspective; her twin Berlin handles corpses and revival; and strict student council president Chiemi keeps things moving. Romance, friendship and lust sit naturally beside the mystery, so th…

Fuyukara Kururu (localized as Fuyukuru. Winter winds, adieu? ) is one of the weirdest visual novels I’ve ever read that still has an actual story. I had some fun with it, but recommending it is tricky thanks to its bizarre genre mix. It’s the fourth (and final) entry in Ryoichi Watanabe’s “Kuru” seasonal series. The first three were developed by the now-defunct Sumikko Soft . Fuyukuru was made by Silky’s Plus. The games mostly work standalone, but personally I recommend reading Harukuru: Spring Has Come True first, as it helps a lot with understanding why Fuyukuru is the way it is. That said it is currently only a 17+ version on Steam by Sekai Project, but I think it's more than readable (and probably even preferred) that way.
Quirky, Horny Lesbians
For the first 3–5 hours of this ~20-hour VN, you’d be forgiven for thinking it’s just a sex-heavy yuri nukige. This contrasts with earlier games’ standard male-protagonist + 4-6 heroine galge setups. The setting is a vaguely explained all-girls academy where most of the humor comes from the girls openly flirting and fantasizing what they would do to each other in bed. The humor never fully disappears, though it slowly gets…

Fuyukara, Kururu, or Fuyukuru, is a story told in three parts: a yuri nukige featuring
futanaris
at the start, a murder mystery featuring
futanaris
at the middle, and a philosophical sci-fi featuring
futanaris
at the end. Now onto the actual review, My experience reading this VN is something I can't really put into words. You start this game with a constant deluge of excessively horny (and very long) h-scenes, but by the end, you are going to ponder about the meaning of life, death and such -- and it all fits nicely as one long, coherent narrative split into three parts. The game is bittersweet, yet cathartic, and of course, unapologetically horny. This game is almost completely linear with two choices splitting into a brief bad end. There are 9 long h-scenes and 80 jaw-droppingly beautiful CGs in total (just look at the preview images!), which is quite a lot for a ~20 hour VN. While Fuyukuru is technically the fourth and final part of a series, the game is completely standalone. I have not read the first game Harukuru (which is on Steam) because some company hasn't released the uncut version that was suppos…
Check our our Steam Curator for a listing of our more in-depth reviews and guides
Fuyukuru. – Winter winds, adieu? – is an at times bizarre visual novel, but one that works perfectly within the framework of its own world’s logic. Everything connects together well, and the story is told in an engaging way with multiple points of view and hints slowly revealed throughout the murder mystery portion of the story. However, it does suffer from some pacing issues. Importantly, I'd like to take this chance to mention that Fuyukuru is a standalone visual novel, despite some people implying otherwise. While there may be things to appreciate from reading the other titles, you can enjoy it without reading Harukuru, or the (at the time of writing) untranslated Natsukumo Yururu or Akiyume Kukuru, even if they are in the same wider series.
