"A dead world's dream" is one of literally thousands of GameMaker Studio 2D retro pixel platformers infesting Steam. It's been slapped together with the godawful GameMaker Studio video game construction kit from Yoyogames. It's a basic 2D retro pixel platformer where you control some alligator alien thing (it's hard to tell, the graphics are awful). Like most GameMaker Studio construction kit "games", this features lazy 2D retro pixel "art", instead of professionally done, contemporary PC graphics. Controls and resolution are locked, which pushes this below acceptable standards for PC. However, it is worth noting that significant effort went into trying to make an actual game with GameMaker Studio... unfortunately, this isn't something GameMaker Studio is good for. GameMaker Studio is a very poor quality game construction kit, and unsurprisingly results in products that have little to no value as games, especially when compared to the work of professional developers who create genuine products for gamers. Геймплей основан на исследовании локаций и решении головоломок, что создает ощущение одиночества и мистики. Графика минимальна, но стильна, а звуковая сцена усиливает напряженность. I was pretty split on if I liked this game or not. The controls make every level feel like an ice level, the sound design makes you feel like you're having a stroke at some points, there are egregious levels of back tracking if you don't know [b]exactly[/b] what you're doing, but the game has a certain charm to it. From what I've seen, the creator wanted this to be a hard game, and put at least some effort into lore (even if it's poorly executed), which tells me they have at least [i]some[/i] care for this game. It was a bad game made by somebody trying their hardest to make a good game, so it has some of my respect, but if I can't stomach more than an hour then there's something fundamentally wrong
