About A.I.M. Racing

A.I.M. Racing welcomes you to the planet Polygon-4, where deadly vehicles of the distant future compete, swishing planet’s dusty atmosphere at a tremendous pace. Years ago humans along with the Arlings used Polygon-4 for a number of military experiments, but later left the test complex. However, the intelligent machines, AIMs, continue to fulfill objectives they are programmed for: further evolution and self-perfection. AIMs of the Reckoners clan built a network of tracks to test multi-purpose combat machines in action.
If you are not afraid of awesome speed, fatal traps and plasma charges, tearing apart your racing glider’s sheeting, A.I.M. Racing is a game of your choice. There is no need to save money to buy a new glider, no need to think, where you can acquire energy supply for a more powerful canon. The clan will give you everything – but you must win!
Racing with a bit of shooting. Pretty shallow, only 6 levels that're very mediocre. Pick one of 3 vehicles each one with different stats like firepower, speed, handling and acceleration. Overall rather bad so skipping is your best bet.
A.I.M. Racing, developed by SkyRiver Studios and published by Fulqrum Publishing, is a futuristic combat racing title that blends high-speed anti-gravity racing with weapon-driven chaos, wrapped in a distinctly early-2010s sci-fi aesthetic. Set on the desolate planet Polygon-4, the game frames its races as trials conducted by autonomous artificial intelligences known as AIMs, machines originally created for military research that now endlessly compete to refine their own performance. While the narrative largely exists in the background, it gives the game a thematic identity that separates it from more abstract arcade racers, grounding the action in a bleak, mechanical vision of perpetual competition. At the heart of A.I.M. Racing is its fusion of speed and combat. Players pilot hovering racing machines across wide, dusty tracks at extreme velocities, while simultaneously managing offensive and defensive tools designed to sabotage opponents. Winning isn’t simply about driving clean lines or mastering cornering; it’s about knowing when to deploy mines, missiles, shields, and boosts to disrupt rivals and protect your own fragile machine. This dual focus creates races that feel volati…

A.I.M. Racing is an ancient game from 2010. It's a whopping 13 years old at the time of this review. The game lacks support for any modern gaming display resolutions (or widescreen monitors), hasn't been modernised or updated to run smoothly on modern gaming PCs. Despite this lack of modernisation, it carries a pretty high price tag for such an ancient game. This seems to have been put on Steam as a nostalgia gouge, or just a cash grab to try profit from abandonware. This is a Chinese ripoff of Star Wars: Pod Racer, it's an unabashed clone, a knockoff of the pod-racing scene we all know and love dearly from Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace. You can see from the screenshots... you're controlling an anti-grav vehicle along the canyons of Tattoine. Just because Lucas didn't sue then, and Disney haven't sued yet, doesn't mean it's not coming, so, you know, this is already a risky buy. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The game only displays in 4:3 pillarboxed aspect ratio. It's possible they developed this using an old CRT they found in a dumpster, or this game has been specifically d…

After 14 years, I was able to complete this childhood goldmine. It took me a long time before I uncovered this game due to me rage quitting and not writing the name of the game on a piece of paper. Is this nostalgia bias, most probably, but I think it holds up pretty well to this day. The days of Vista will not be forgotten.
