ABZU

[h2][i]ABZÛ - Beneath the Surface[/i][/h2] Water has always scared me. I've nearly drowned a few times in my life, so anything involving the deep ocean usually makes me a little uneasy. Abzu, on the other hand, somehow made me fall in love with the underwater world. It looks exactly how I imagined the ocean as a kid vibrant, colourful, peaceful, and full of life. Combined with its beautiful soundtrack, it creates an incredibly calming atmosphere. Sometimes all you need is a relaxing game to escape from the stress of everyday life, and Abzu does exactly that. The amount of marine life in the game is honestly impressive. Every area is filled with different species of fish and sea creatures, making the world feel alive. You can even swim alongside them, interact with them, and ride some of the larger fish, which never stopped putting a smile on my face. I played the game on my Steam Deck OLED using a mix of Medium and High settings for a smooth 60 FPS experience. The achievements are also very approachable thanks to the chapter select feature, making 100% completion a relaxing experience rather than a grind. Wow... this game is absolutely gorgeous. The visuals are stunning, and the overall atmosphere is simply beautiful. From the moment you dive in, you're taken on a wonderful and emotional journey through the underwater world, where you encounter countless beautiful marine creatures along the way. The game doesn't rely on action or complex mechanics—it lets its world do the talking. Exploring the ocean at your own pace is a relaxing and memorable experience that stayed with me long after the credits rolled. The game also ran flawlessly on the Steam Deck. My only criticism is that it's a bit short. Still, it's the perfect game for a cozy evening when you just want to immerse yourself in a beautiful world for a few hours. Overall: 9/10

I have played 2 hours of this game. You swim around and unlock fishes. It's relaxing to see. Not boring. A great game to play when you are tired. It's best to play it with a controller. I use the steam controller with the gyroscope configured and it's wonderful to use. Just swimming but it relaxes me :-) A tired evening it's the perfect time to play this :-) If you want the controller config for ABZU i have loaded it as a custom setup in the key configuration for this game.

Out of all the games I've played, ABZÛ is the only one that gives a genuine sense of therapeutical relaxation. I couldn't recommend it more as an amazing short experience, though such short length may make it wise to purchase it on sale. The stunning visuals and music coupled together make this an artistic gem!
