About Across Icaria
A boy called Ica decide to visit sea. Born into a military empire, he was tired of war and inventing weapons. After transforming an old gunboat with stolen Flying Wings, Ica began his journey of escape. It is said that "ships" were originally used for "navigation", but in this world, the sea has disappeared for half a century.FeaturesEscape from the battlefield by gunboat, cross the Ikaria continent, and enjoy the vast world outside the restricted area.Dispatch cannons, launch missiles, repair engines However, please note that operating the outdated gunboat system requires manual input of commands.Confront all kinds of enemies - with your observation and typing speed!AboutThis mini game started with a gamejam, and with a passion for classic STG, typing games and 90s anime, we boldly attempted this experimental gameplay combination. After multiple rounds of adjustments and polishing, we realized our wish that more people to try this idea, so we decided to release it for free. The game consists of 6 levels and a carefully crafted fantasy story, hoping you will enjoy it.

Cool concept for gameplay where typing is how you navigate everything about attacking. This was covered as part of this week's episode of Free2Play Weekly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6asmRxTtBCQ6 found this helpful
Holy executive dysfunction batman! This was a helluva cute game. I expected something slower paced but boy was it fun. The tutorial is fine but I had a bit of trouble getting used to the command loop. You give your little gunship commands by typing them into a console which has a few menus to navigate as well, a command console, like in your OS, like DOS. As a game play mechanic it is difficult to adapt to. Making your brain make these decisions and connecting them to your hands is hard! and probably good for your brain! For those of you who try the game, I think of it as: 1. Target 2. Enemy/weapon decision 3. Weapon activation type Graphics and art are crisp and stylish. The designers were clearly inspired by studio Ghibli and other anime styles. The Icarus metaphor is endearing. The gameplay is fun, but stressful. If the game was maybe 10-20% slower I'd love to play longer campaigns. One note to the designers, the default language is set to Chinese, and most users will have a heck of a time figuring out how to change the language setting. Maybe have users select their language at startup?3 found this helpful
This game is 1 hour long gem with innovative gameplay. It mixes narrative and fast paced combat based on typing commands. The visuals are great and the music highlights the experience. I really enjoyed it and I wish I could donate to the team to thank them.1 found this helpful
way too hard, i cant even get past the first level on the easiest difficulty, if someone is able to type at 70 words per minute they might be able to get past, i cant type even half that fast and so im just excluded from being able to experience the rest of the game simply because i cant type fast enough
personally i wouldn't recommend this game but that i because i struggle with typing. i am recommend because the game is really well made an the concept is really cool AS LONG AS YOU CAN TYPE WELL. the art is really pretty and the few minutes i did play were entertaining but i very quickly got overwhelmed
Real good! The learning curve is steep, and unskippable dialogue can make it a bit low, but it's wonderful in every other aspects! Keep up at it ! Careful, "Continue" as been mistranslated on the game over screen. And I kindly ask for the crossover with The castle in the sky. Come on, ask them, they won't bite ! :D
