Just played this and I was actually really excited to because the original free version is one of my favorite old VR titles. It didn't really scare me too much, the game felt very slow, the main mode was 40 minutes, the other 2 modes which were kinda interesting were 5 minutes each. Also from what I am researching the graphics got downgraded to hell in a patch because the guys wanted it to match the Quest version for some reason. They did add a legacy branch a few months later to make up for that issue but apparently the files for any sort of input do not exist and the developers haven't fixed it despite complaints for 5+ years now. I'd give it a 6/10. Primarily because I can see how others can enjoy it and be scared, however I still feel like the original experience is better.2 found this helpful
AFFECTED: The Manor - The Complete Edition, developed and published by Fallen Planet Studios, is a virtual reality horror title that fully embraces the idea of fear as an experience rather than a traditional game. Designed from the ground up for VR, it places players inside a decaying mansion where atmosphere, sound, and anticipation do far more work than mechanics or narrative exposition. Instead of relying on puzzles, combat, or elaborate objectives, the game focuses on immersing the player in a carefully paced haunted environment, turning the act of simply walking through hallways into a nerve-wracking ordeal. The central experience revolves around exploration and survival within The Manor, an abandoned and ominous estate filled with dark corridors, creaking doors, and unseen presences. Movement is deliberately slow and deliberate, encouraging players to absorb their surroundings and remain constantly alert. There is no map, no clear guidance, and no reassurance that any path is safe. This design reinforces a persistent sense of vulnerability, as every corner feels like it could trigger something unexpected. The game’s horror thrives on uncertainty rather than constant jump sca…1 found this helpful

This was so much scarier than I expected! There were two times that I had to pull the headset off to remind myself I was home and it was daytime. I also found myself flailing my arms to punch away the demon/ghost creatures. And I would not consider myself a horror wimp. For reference, I completed MadisonVR with a haptic vest and don’t recall ripping my headset off abruptly. This game made me Nope out TWICE 😆 This game also has three separate game modes, or levels, which is cool since it’s a fairly short experience otherwise. I have played the main Manor level once and did their darkness” level. I have not yet played their “gauntlet” level yet.
This walkthrough game gets played EVERY time I use my headset - Now I'm on the PCL and graphically it just can't get any better - the only problem is they have 2 other games that they wont release!! This is a VR crime in my book. Anyhow, you do have the Oculus version that's a bit different so check that out as well.
7/10 - good 'Haunted House' experience the Ugly, While you can install the legacy version, selecting beta in properties. the controls don't work (Quest 3) VD & Steam Link & Air Link, none of them work. the Good, the normal version, works well with Virtual Desktop. not the best graphic as the legacy version, the visuals are crisp. while mostly.. jump scares, good haunted mansion experience. the Bad, About 30 mins, to do all the 3 parts once, including the tutorial. but the 'Affected Manor' part has different paths to take, so about Total 1 Hour game play, Short, but would be great for Family & Guests VR. but for solo play, its a play it once then gone. Worth it at Sale.
