Against Great Darkness Prologue pros: //fast game with modern day graphics with easy controls that moves from location A to B to C and so on //good amount of action and special effects cons: //a lot of difficult battles //some overpowered enemies //some enemies have unfair attacks //could use more health drops/powerups //losing battles are a grindfest (going back to checkpoints will respawn a lot of enemies) //some times too many enemies constantly spawn //sometimes too many traps/enemy attacks //upgrades cost a lot of resources //gathering resources are a grindfest //good game Personal Suggested Purchase Price: Free To Play

This game is beautiful and definitely worth a try. The combat is unique, the idea is that you deflect a ball (disk) and stop it from falling off the screen, however, whilst you are doing that, there are a variety of demons trying to kill you. You can purchase different abilities every time you level up and each non passive ability requires you to hit a disk once or multiple times to activate it. It's sort of like a combination of an old retro style alien shooter and a block breaker game with the same concept of hitting a ball and not letting it fall. And on top of that it's free. This is meant to be the prologue to a full game and after seeing this, I'm probably gonna give the full game a try on release.

Very cool original idea, plays well, recommend. With that said, I do have some UI/UX related grievances: - Important information (health, remaining cleanses) is small and hidden in a corner. It could be a little larger or shown at the bottom center of the screen, and maybe available cleanses could be yellow. - Please sort the upgrades differently, so that the least expensive (base cost) ones are at the top of the list, and/or show cost without clicking on the upgrade. This helps tell a new player whether they can grab anything or not with just a few clicks, instead of needing to investigate the whole inventory. I would like audio cues for a few things: - Disk spawning - Hitting a fastball (i.e. I would like it to sound different from a regular hit) - Being hit to 1 health remaining

"Against Great Darkness Prologue" is not a game. It's an advertisement for a product called "Against Great Darkness". Against Great Darkness is a failed and abandoned hybrid 2D retro pixel shoot'em up and ripoff of Atari's copyrighted brickbreaker game, Breakout, that the developer abandoned 10 months ago, yet is still trying to scam gamers into buying, despite having taken all the money and run. But this isn't completely relevant because this is not Against Great Darkness, it's just an advertisment for it, so it's not correct to try to review that completely distinct product. We must instead review this for what it is... an advertisement. If you enjoy advertisements, you can consume them for free on the web or on Youtube without needing to add them to your game library, download them, and then launch the advertising. It's impossible in a general sense to recommend people should do that over playing real, full games on Steam, and that applies here with "Against Great Darkness Prologue" too. The purpose of this advertisement is to get you to pay a whopping $7USD to the developer for their abandoned game that they are never going to finish. Does that sound like a scam to you…
