About Airlock Arena: Profit or Perish

As an interstellar cargo smuggler, or "Space Slug," you see opportunity where others see a desolate graveyard. Complete increasingly difficult contracts, and sell everything you can get your hands on. Master the tools of the trade and use the physics of space to your advantage. Cooperate with up to three friends to become cosmic legends, or strike out on your own as a Solo Slug.Remember: Survival is optional, profit is mandatory.

ASSEMBLE YOUR CREW

Go it alone or bring up to 3 friends to form a smuggling crew of the most dangerous and desperate beings in the galaxy.

TAKE ON CONTRACTS

Complete dangerous and illicit procedurally generated contracts. It’s all part of daily life as a Space Slug: transport illegal cargo, scavenge battlefields, steal rare artifacts, and kidnap valuable creatures.

MAINTAIN YOUR SHIP

The coffins that Space Slugs call ships are unreliable at best.  You’ll need to keep them patched up! Restart broken systems, repair walls and engines, and decide which sections of the ship to keep pressurized in order to protect your cargo.

SURVIVE THE HORROR

Investigate derelict craft and passing planetoids for trash and treasures.  Beware the dangers lurking within. Spacewalk your way to riches or ruin, and get used to dragging your friend’s corpses back to the respawn platform.

DELIVER THE CARGO

Unload cargo onto the cargo platform while still warding off possible dangers. Repair your ship as much as possible to minimize your ship damage penalty. Once the mission is over, look for new contracts to expand your smuggling legend.

KILL YOUR FRIENDS

Battle your way in fully customizable deathmatch! Cunningly use the environment to your advantage or wade in with energy blades to prove you’re the ultimate swordsman!

I first played Airlock Arena with a couple friends and it was great to play death match together. I played the single player version and it was just as much fun. Although I did immediately murder all the scientists and destroy the cargo I was supposed to transport on accident lol. Ended up playing for 2 hours straight trying to unlock all the achievements you can get. It definitely took me a second to get all the controls down, but once I did I really liked some of the mechanics. This game is addicting and extremely fun to play with friends or by yourself. Would definitely recommend Airlock Arena, it's the kind of game you can play over and over again and have just as much fun as the first time you played

I played several games with my boyfriend and had a blast! I mean that literally as we watched the goods we worked so hard to grab from a burning space station while our ship was under attack all get blown into space twelve seconds later through a hull breach before we could save any of it! I think I found every possible way to die though so he started sacrificing scientists on the respawn platform, calling them 'organically sourced extra lives' lol I felt bad :( But also strangely grateful! I would totally recommend this as a fun couch game! Oh and the game over song 'Treasure in the Stars' has no right to be that good, I haven't had anything stuck in my head like that since Down By The River from BG3!

I've played both single and multiplayer and have had a FANTASTIC time with the game. It strikes the perfect balance of easy to learn, difficult to master, with just the right combination of skill and luck mixed in. You can pick up on the game mechanics after just a few minutes, but after a few rounds you really get to appreciate the challenge the physics and crises add to the levels. If you're looking for some easy-to-get-into rounds of a game with friends or solo, this is an excellent option. The developers recommend gamepad, which I would like to try at some point. I've been on mouse and keyboard and have had no issues with the gameplay. Perhaps I'll lose less cargo and finish out more contracts if I actually make the switch, hah!

It would be fun but I'm continuously experiencing graphics issues whereby the screen freezes whilst game play continues in the background.

I acknowledge that I haven't played a ton of this game but even what I have played didn't get me through the tutorial. There are so many different mechanics and some of them felt a bit klunky so I simply couldn't bring myself to continue on with the tutorial. This is very rare for me, so I will come back to this game in the future and see if my opinion has changed and will then edit this review, but for the time being I cannot give it a thumbs up or recommend it to others.
