About Aka

Gardening
The farming system is inspired by permaculture, where associations (garden design) and wild animals play a role.

Construction
It is possible to craft shelter, tools, clothes, or various props. It can help solve quests or just be for a decorative purpose. You will need to gather materials, find objects or win them while doing quests.

Relaxation
Relaxing in hot springs with monkeys, watching clouds while listening to the ocean waves, or taking a nap on a giant Capybara...

Narrative quests
Aka isn't a linear game. Meet various characters of all kinds: villagers willing to help, trapped animals, giant monsters, or ghosts from your past who need your help to be freed.

What Steam players say

Players appreciate the game's cute art style and soothing, peaceful atmosphere, but consistently criticize its lack of depth and content. The main complaints center on feeling rushed and incomplete—with limited decoration options, pointless collectibles, sparse quests that finish well before the 100-day achievement requirement, and a slow gameplay loop that becomes tedious. While the game offers a relaxing experience for a few hours, many feel the core mechanics and progression systems need significant expansion to justify the playtime.
I loved the characters, the idea etc. but there are times where I felt like there was suppose to be more to this game. There's items that you can collect that don't really do anything. Some spaces feel empty. There's an achievement for playing to Day 100 but I completed all the quests around day 30. I kept looking at my island and wanting to decorate it more but there's limited options. It was nice with some really unique ideas but I kept feeling like there was suppose to be more.3 found this helpful
Overall, I enjoyed this game. I enjoyed the simplicity of it and it felt rather cozy. The main story was sweet and heartfelt (carried hard by the ghost encounters). My main issues with the game was that it felt rather grindy at times, some missions were hard to piece together what was needed as the next step was not always made clear and the diagonal walking mechanic is kind of annoying. However, overall I would still recommend this game, and by the end i felt emotionally attached to it and the characters. If you enjoy chill cozy games with a low skill curve and charming stories, this is the game for you!1 found this helpful
This is really not the game I thought or hoped it would be. It's slow, clunky, and the game play loop is slow. I came for the art style and left because of the...eh...Everything else of it all. Too many other games to play a game you don't love.1 found this helpful
Honestly, a slow and boring game that you do a lot of mundane tasks.1 found this helpful
Super cute so far, with only a touch of emotional trauma. It's slightly open-world, but there are quests, and I can see it losing it's allure once you've completed all the quests. But I'm pacing myself and trying to enjoy the experience. I mean, there's an achievement for watching the clouds for 5min.
peaceful adventure game with about 5 hours of content, but it takes 20 hours to get all achievements. it's not very clear where and when new quests can be started, so it gets to feeling boring as you're figuring things out. the steam achievement for 100 days will have you running the game on mute in the background, which is a little disappointing because the quests only really take about 25 days. all in all, it's a cute and peaceful game, but it has a lot that could be improved and most crops are pointless to grow
