I like a quest game where there is enough going on to keep it interesting without it being overwhelming. Or too little to do and (for me) too open world. This is a good balance. I like the graphics and most of it is easy while still being interesting. I've not mastered fishing, as my WASD skills just aren't good enough, but I do okay otherwise. Cozy but not too cozy.
I'm 3/4 of the way to finishing this game and I'm giving it a 'Yes, but...' The cons: It's very grindy. The treasure chests are mostly blah/sameness in different 'flavors' - something special every once in a while would have been very welcome. The storyline is presented in a very shallow manner - only 4 quests to rebuild small parts of the town after the quake. The devs could have done a lot more with this part of the game! There's no actual relationship/friendship building with the npcs. Even though there are houses to build later in the game, the original camper can't even be moved! You can't go inside any of the town buildings. And the camera angle is odd and prevents you from seeing much distance. I found this especially bothersome. You can't go immediately back to bed to make a day pass quickly & instead must wait until late in the afternoon. Some of the temple puzzles are a real PITA and I had to follow utube videos frame by frame. The pros: The game is very pretty & colorful. You can quit & save anywhere except inside the temples (in addition to when you sleep). There's different professions that are interesting and have their own questlines. There are 4 different biom…
this is so nice to play
Luma Island strikes the perfect balance between cozy farming and puzzle solving for me!
