You’ll have your own island, but taking care of something like that is a lot of hard work. You’ll be able to plant trees to get wood and craft new tools and buildings with different materials. Or you can create crop fields to grow all kinds of vegetables. You’ll also have a farm with chickens and pigs to take care of.
But be careful, because this isn’t as easy as it looks! You’ll also be able to fish in a pond or in the open sea, cut trees with your hatchet, build things with your hammer, and use a hoe to help you harvest your island.
Koa will need your help. With a basic set of skills, she can acquire new abilities and learn from the world that surrounds her. We want you to feel like you’re growing up with Koa, bonding with her and with all the other people in the archipelago.
You’ll be able to sail to new islands and find treasures and other secrets in the middle of the sea with your trusty boat, which you can upgrade with a little effort and time.
With new islands come new people. You’ll talk and trade with over twenty characters, each one with their own story and life. They’ll give you quests, hints about the world, or just anecdotes about their experiences and travels. Getting to know them is a significant part of the game, so we put much effort into making them unique and exciting.
But not everyone will be friendly. An evil corporation called Elit wants to conquer Mara and exploit the ocean. Napopo is one of their first victims, a strange creature that will seek Koa for help.

It's too shallow and underdeveloped to be fun. The game is a fetch quest fest. Like 100%. Every. Single. Quest. On top of that no basic action or movement feels satisfying. Nothing cozy about this game unfortunately...1 found this helpful
Genuinely one of my favourite games ever. I did not want to stop playing at all. It is a nice, cosy game with some travelling and farming. However, it is not a farming simulator game. Farming is mostly for fetching for tasks. All characters have backstories, which really adds to the magic of it. You do spend a lot of time going back and forth between places, but I did not mind at all. I finished the main story but really wanted to keep playing for all the achievements.
I like all the little adventures that you have along the way. Kao makes friends easy and its such a sweet game.
It's a cute casual game that's extremely easy and also very long. It needed just a little bit more in terms of the production values of the actual interaction on the islands to make it great, but it's acceptable as it is. It's kind of a mix of Harvest Moon and Wind Waker, but there's no combat and the core game design is extremely simple. You start off on your own farm and have to upgrade your tools, purchase crops and build things up to progress. The goal isn't to have a better farm, in fact farming barely matters in this game at all. You need to harvest some crops for food and cloth to complete quests to get to the end of the game. As the game progresses you see more and more of the outside world. It's exciting in the beginning because there's more depth than there initially seems. Once you make it to the main island you start completing quests and eventually expand outward to sail to other islands. Unfortunately, the game world is not very interactive and much of the game is just running around, skipping through dialogue, going back to your island to cook a dish, and running around again. The only major limitations are food and money. You need to eat to avoid passing out, but…
It's a very cute and cozy game with a beautiful artstyle. Especially the cinematics at the start and at the end. I've played it twice now. Once, when it came out and just now to 100 % it. It has a few janks, but really only a few and nothing game breaking. Just talking to Rigatta is infuriating sometimes and the Ereti Questline showing 100 % If you meet her before you're supposed to is a bit confusing. I personally don't see myself playing in sandbox mode, but the farming and crafting is really fun. Sailing can become quite tedious after a while, but there's fasttravel (once you have some extra money to spare). Overall I really enjoy this game and highly recommend it :D
I had to buy this as I played it on the switch years ago and loved it. Then with it being on steam, of course I had to 100% it. A lot of running back and forth, but a super cute story and different personalities. Also I love the art scene behind the door. Thanks!!
