This game is bad. And I have played a ton of bad games. I wouldn't even recommend All That Remains if it were free. Can't believe they are charging 4 bucks for this.
PROS
+ ok....so I have sat here for 5 minutes and tried to think of something positive to say. If there is something positive then its eluding me right now.
CONS
- movement. Ever tried to grind warm meat in a meat grinder? That's what movement in this game feels like. Its a horrible sludge of getting nowhere.- graphics. Everything is fogged over and has that pixellated flashlight ring thing going on. The store page screenshots are not representative of what I saw on an RTX 2080ti with all the settings maxed out. DON'T TRUST THOSE SCREENSHOTS. Also the colour ones they took are the only decent shots in the whole game. I know because I took exactly the same ones.- soldiers. There is no explanation why there are soldiers here. I mean I can guess why but we are never told why they are gunning down civilians. They move like Resident Evil 1 zombies but somehow come off as more lifeless.- story. Did Elysian Games miss the memo about walking sims? Story is kinda key here. You'd think wit…40 found this helpful
It's the sort of game that you can't exactly judge by its story. It's like an appetizer of story, like reading the back of a book before reading it. If you're like me, you won't be satisfied, but again my negative opinion isn't about the story, which is super short and the developpers are at least honest about it. The "no" comes from the 10 minutes I spent trying to make the game work. I tried with keyboard + mouse, then controller, then back to keyboard and mouse, not understanding why I couldn't spin the camera. If you face the same problem, it's because the mouse sensitivity is set to 0 when you launch the game, which causes the camera to move lightly to the right, left, up or down. Just push the setting and you'll finally be able to play. To the dev, you should correct that, it's really annoying and one shouldn't spend time trying to understand what is wrong in that game to be able to play.5 found this helpful

All That Remains, developed and published by Elysian Games, is a short, introspective experience that leans heavily into atmosphere and emotional reflection rather than traditional gameplay structure. Set within a bleak, post-apocalyptic version of Earth that has been largely abandoned, the game presents a quiet and somber journey centered on a lone individual confronting the weight of his past and the inevitability of his situation. It is less concerned with delivering a conventional story and more focused on evoking a particular mood, inviting players to absorb its tone and interpret its meaning at their own pace. The gameplay is deliberately minimal, built around exploration and environmental storytelling. Players move through desolate landscapes and decaying spaces, uncovering fragments of narrative through scattered details rather than direct exposition. There are occasional interactive elements and light moments of tension, but these are secondary to the experience as a whole. The design emphasizes observation and reflection, encouraging players to slow down and take in the surroundings rather than rush toward objectives. This approach creates a steady, almost meditative rhy…1 found this helpful
A disappointing walking simulator. I was hoping there would me more to it that there is. First of all the store page claims that it takes 40-60 to complete but it only took me 25 minutes. And while it has some bits and pieces of a sad story what it boils down to in the end is that you walk around the map avoiding guards. Also for some reason at some point in the beginning the way you are looking keep randomly switching around for no apparently reason.1 found this helpful
Ever tried to throw a brick into a washing machine? That's what this game feels like. Gameplay and story mix like peanutbutter and fried chicken. Graphics are below average. Voice acting is subpar. The story has some intrigue and mystery to it, but the checkpoint system ultimately removes any tension. At this point I would say, they just should not have bothered with gameplay at all and just made the whole thing a walking sim with better visuals.
