Once Alive

A decent walking sim by a solo dev and it has voice acting? noice. I'm not gonna say this is the greatest thing I have ever played but I did get very absorbed in the story and trying to piece together the notes and little scenes you come across into a post apocalypse story. Is it a little janky? yes, but its fine. The only real issue I had was trying to fix a wire and figuring out that it had a very specific interact point. The graphics aren't perfect but some of the landscapes were very beautiful to look at. The animations were a bit goofy at times, but it got the point across. The writing and voice acting werent top star and appear to be not English origin but I've seen worse. I guess what I'm saying is, if the story seems interesting, give it a go but be prepared for an indie game made by a non-english solo dev and you'll have a good time...until the end ...sad

great game massive props to the dev of it i loved the story and i loved the fact you can move object like the wood planks and climb on them hope for more

The game runs smoothly and the graphics and music are genuinely well done. But if you're expecting fast-paced action, this isn't it. It feels more like watching an interactive movie then playing a game, and there's not much to do.

[h1] Once Gone [/h1] Once Alive is very linear walking simulator about a brother trying to find his lost brother, and discover the acclaimed Haustville. I will not spoil anything, but the premise of the story of the village, and the characters' backstories are interesting. The world building caught me by surprise a couple times. The voice acting is a bit all over the place, but I don't blame the director or anything, because for a first video game, it is still very intriguing. Plus, the ending leaves it open for more. I will say this is your typical walking simulator, with little to no puzzles or action. So, don't be disappointed. Also, it is fairly short, and you can beat it within about 1-2 hours, at most. Overall, it isn't the best walking sim I have ever played, but it is far from the worst. This game gives you some interesting pieces, and I can definitely see it being expanded upon, later, or even having a sequel. If you are interested, I can definitely recommend to give it a try.
