About AmaZoo

Hi, I'm KoKo. I'm the new order picker at AmaZoo. My job is to get these boxes to the right place—or at least, I think it is. I don’t have all the instructions yet, and there are some dangerous things around here that I’m not too sure about. Can you help me move all these boxes and find the way out? I really can’t wait for this long day to be over!  AmaZoo is a progressive and varied puzzle game inspired by the classic Sokoban, reimagined with a side-view perspective reminiscent of old-school 2D games.Enjoy an intuitive and engaging experience as you solve over 100 puzzles across multiple stages, each carefully crafted to challenge your logical thinking.Your goal is to move and organize various types of boxes to clear the way to the exit and advance to the next stage. But beware—some boxes have unexpected behaviors, and one wrong move can quickly turn a simple task into a tricky challenge!  There are several types of ‘boxes’ in the game, each with unique characteristics and mechanisms. As KoKo, you’ll need to use your skills to carry, drop, throw, stack, jump, and climb with the boxes in hand. And if one gets in your way or drives you crazy, don’t hesitate to kick it out of your path!  AmaZoo’s warehouses are anything but safe—definitely not up to humanoid safety standards. You’ll encounter towering staircases, compactors, faulty machinery, spikes, lasers, and even explosive hazards. Be careful, KoKo—workplace accidents are just around the corner!  Don’t let the calm atmosphere fool you—progression brings increasingly challenging puzzles designed to push your logic and creativity to the limit. Will you rise to the occasion? If you enjoy a challenge, you can replay levels to beat your own record! But remember: optimizing your work is key.

It's a very nice Sokoban-platformer so far. Its lacking some UX features (mainly no undo button) but the puzzles are well designed. Definitely worth a try!

I absolutely love this style of game, but this title craps the bed at every conceivable corner. 1. No undo button. Absolute cardinal sin. And there's a step counter? 2. Wonky controls. There's delay input and fiddly response. Combine that with the above after stacking boxes for a couple minutes where you accidentally double-jump onto spikes and you get to start over from the beginning instead of just rewinding one step! Yay! Who doesn't love wasting their time? 3. Timing elements. Seriously? In some levels you just stand idly for 15 seconds waiting for slow machines to line up. Absolute nightmare for experimentation. It felt like there were some interesting design choices and mechanics to mess with, but these levels seem more about draining your time than making you feel clever. Spend your time and money on better titles like Pilapila, Super Retro BoxBot, or Crate Mates. Trust me.

Honestly great game. The game play is polished, the controls are simple, and the puzzles are challenging but not annoyingly complex. For me its a no brainier purchase at the current price point. if you want to see game-play of the early levels here is my live stream: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPtH6dPQ-iM Update: level 15 is crazy hard so the description is 100% correct, it is "chill at first" after 14 the chill is gone (in a good way)

Instead of pushing blocks from a top-down view though, the gameplay relies on lifting and dropping boxes in a side-view perspective. Despite some quality-of-life limitations, AmaZoo offers interestingly compact and tricky puzzles. Your character, KoKo, is a new worker lost in a giant corporate warehouse, and the goal of each level is to bring them to the exit on the right side of the screen. There can be multiple obstacles in the way though, from high walls to hazardous lasers, and that’s where moving boxes around comes into play. Aside from the plain cardboard ones, you’ll also have to use trolleys, fragile pots, heavy crates… The puzzles ingeniously leverage both the strengths and the perils of each type of box. Several rooms include real-time elements, in the form of moving platforms and patrolling robots. The levels are present…

If you have some kids, very nice game. Hard work on the level design.
