An above average fan game. With the goal of making a SNES/GBA era Zelda game for Cecilia, the dev certainly succeeded. The amount of content is fun to complete (lots of bonus boss battles for even more cameos), the story is funny throughout, and the gear you find is useful in combat and exploration. Once you get used to her controls, Cecilia is a reliable MC who can pull off all kinds of attack and defense moves. The game also plays without any issues on Steam Deck, which is nice. For critiques, the difficulty isn't exactly a curve. The first dungeon is probably the most difficult one until the finale because the clone mechanic is extremely unforgiving. Falling in the water comes with a funny voice clip that unfortunately means it takes a bit too long to respawn, which becomes annoying in areas based around being knocked into the water consistently. Finally, you gain a lot of health (gears), but never any improved defense, which makes Ceci a huge glass cannon, which is not super accurate, her main positive trait lore wise is "durability." This one would be fixable with either an item you can get partway through for more defense (like Link's various tunics, it could be a Libestal ca…3 found this helpful

The game was a fun zelda like game. The writing and references were fantastic, I really enjoyed the dialogue and the character's interactions. (Justice for a certain somebody!) Now I don't play this type of game often, so I died a lot. This is fine and part of the learning process, however i found the contact damage to be very unforgiving and proper spacing is not that easy without a lot of practice. Other than that I didn't really have much issue with the gameplay. My biggest issue with the game is that on Steam the game sits in my library non-capitalized as 'An automaton's journey' and not 'An Automaton's Journey'. This is obviously a non-issue, but still... It was very fun even for someone not too familiar with the genre and I would definitely recommend you give it a try.1 found this helpful
It offers a substantial amount of content for the price. The character portrayals of the Hololive members seem accurate and free of major errors. The puzzle difficulty is well-balanced, and there is a satisfying sense of progression. It is a game that can be enjoyed casually, even by those who aren't Hololive fans.1 found this helpful
Entertaining RPG with cute characters and story.1 found this helpful
Great game with good mechanics, cute character interactions and quite a bit to do. Just finished it 100%. Very engaging and super fun to figure out puzzles! I loved all of the items and how they came up in interesting ways. The characters were given an authentic treatment that felt very in tune with the Hololive fandom. The final boss wasn't bad but then the secret final boss was pretty hard. Took me more than a few tries and I needed to restock my ammo. There were a few puzzles that were difficult to do, namely the introduction to Shiori's dungeon and finishing the Otomo rescue in Pekora's cave. Both would have stumped me for a long time if I hadn't tried to look them up. Those were the only things I really needed help on, got the rest of it on my own with some thinking. Wonderful game. Very happy to see Hololive getting some attention in this sphere!1 found this helpful
