One of the most beloved classics of the Amiga era, has finally returned! Experience a world filled with insects that may look cute, but will kill you with a single hit or collision. With Apidya Special, ININ Games delivers an enhanced version of the classic for PC and consoles, allowing a new generation of players to enjoy one of the greatest shoot-'em-ups ever made. Among enthusiasts, Apidya is widely regarded as the finest Amiga-exclusive shoot-'em-up, or "shmup" in modern terminology. While the Amiga had plenty of shmups, only a handful could truly compete with the top tier of the genre. Arcade/consople shooters were generally superior, but Apidya proved that this wasn't a hardware issue. Rather, it came down to the developers' skills, budget, experience, and available time. Technically, the Amiga was perfectly capable of hosting outstanding shmups on par with its competitors. Until now, however, Apidya remained exclusive to the Amiga. Outside of emulating the original, PC players could only revisit that style of gamep…

Quite expensive and a niche product but I played Apidya on the Amiga and have fond nostalgia for the game so bought it. Like X-Out these breed of games had crazy difficulty levels that can be alienating but they are a product of the time. You may have bought a game only a couple of times a year and then you played the hell out of it. It was expected you had to remember formations, where things would appear on screen and in precise order because you would play the levels over and over until you mastered it enough to get through. While a game may theoritically only be 10-15 minutes long, lthe difficulty level meant spending tens of hours to beat it. This port has a few modern touches to soften the difficulty but appears faithful to the original. Not for everyone but highly recommended for those that remember the game and those that can appreciate old school design.

Pretty much everything you could want from an update of the terrific 90s scrolling shooter

If you like old-school horizontal shooters, it's one of the best.

WOW WOW WOW!!! im back in the 1990s infront of my Amiga playing an awesome game..... oh wait Im in 2026 playing the awesome remake that includes original graphics and soundtrack along side new and improved graphics and soundtrack. This is Brillient, Love it :) I sout of expected better graphics on the remake, BUT yes they are better but the original low res style has been kept and it works. Have to admit, I was crap at this game back in the 90s and 3 decades later Im still crap but its fun as hell :) :) :) Can also recomend X-Out, Newzealand Story, Another World, R Type Thrust Lander, Project X, Lunar Lander, Battle Zone, and Robocop all either remade, reimagined or just continued where the 90s left off. Thanks Dev team for another AWESOME remake Keep them comming and Ill keep buying :)

AMIGAAA POWAAA!
