✦ AI summary

Players appreciate this game as a curiosity and historical piece, a faithful remake of an obscure 1980s PC-8800 shooter that successfully captures that era's aesthetic and charm. However, the remake's main drawback is that the ship moves too slowly compared to the original, making the gameplay feel sluggish and lacking in intensity throughout.

Amusingly, while I'm playing this I'm thinking it looks and plays like a clunky homebrew shmup like you'd have seen on an '80s computer system like MSX or Atari 800. I finish the game, read the store description in preparation to write a quick review, and apparently this is a (very) minor remake of a clunky homebrew shmup on the PC-8800 from some indeterminate date in the 1980s. So close! But looking up videos of that game, while the sound isn't quite as good as it is here, your ship in the PC-8800 version seems to move faster, which is what really makes this already humdrum shmup a bit of a chore to play in this Steam version -- your ship is just too slow. There's no intensity, everything seems stuck in 2nd gear. So this is kind of neat as an extremely obscure piece of video game history (they don't get much more obscure - I can't find info on the original game anywhere other than one Youtube video), it's not very fun to play. Worth the buck for video game and/or shoot 'em up historians, probably not to anyone else. 6/10
