About Apocalyptic Adventure: Episode 1

SURVIVE. STRATEGIZE. DEFEND.

The horde is coming. Your only hope is your wits, your hands, and the scrap you can find. Welcome to Apocalyptic Adventure, an intense VR Survival Tower Defense experience where every piece of junk matters and every second counts.Forget abstract menus and god-like views; here, you are on the ground, desperately turning scavenged junk into an arsenal of deadly traps and fortifications. It's not just about surviving; it's about outsmarting the horde.

SCAVENGE & CRAFT FOR YOUR LIFE

Ransack your environment for vital resources. A rusty can, a discarded battery, a broken tool; these are not trash, they are the building blocks of your survival. Immerse yourself in a hostile world where you must actively search for materials, then use what you find at your workbench to craft everything from simple barricades and traps to melee tools and weapons.

BUILD YOUR DEFENSE

The enemy is relentless, but you can be clever. Don't just fight, outsmart. Analyze your surroundings and fortify your position. Board up defenses and lay a gauntlet of traps for the unsuspecting horde. Every decision and every nail can mean the difference between surviving and being overrun.

FIGHT WITH ANYTHING YOU CAN FIND

You are on the front lines. When your defenses fail and the horde breaks through, it's time to get your hands dirty. Use a mix of firearms, melee weapons, and crafted explosives to fight back directly, defending the fortifications you built with your own hands. With limited ammo, you'll learn that a well-placed trap is worth more than a dozen bullets.

A PASSION-DRIVEN VR EXPERIENCE

Developed by a solo creator, Apocalyptic Adventure: Episode 1 is built from the ground up for a comfortable and immersive room-scale VR experience. Featuring both teleportation and smooth motion support, this is the pilot episode of a planned series, now rebuilt and refined in Unreal Engine 5 with community feedback to provide a stronger foundation for the future.
A Gem, yet to be Found

As the store page states it, this game is made by a small team and is designated as an early access title. But early access is not the right word for what we got here so far. Think about Apocalyptic Adventure: Episode 1 as an advanced Demo of what this series might can become in the near future. The coremechanics are already fleshed out, the menu and backpack system is on a good way, Your inventory, which can be grabbed from your back, works as you place it in the world intuitively. Especially while crafting weapons and tools at one of the many workbenches, you get a feeling for the intuitive "grabbing in the bag" to get your resourcess. In addition to the backpack storage on your back for big things, the player got a small pouch on the lef hip in which utility items, like stones, bombs and ammo can be stored and quickly acessed. To get rid of the infected hordes which come at you as you progress threw the map, the player mostly relies on melee combat. While beeing able to use your fists to push the infected away, the game tells you quite early that the use of tools, handcrafted weapons and traps are the way to go against the…

This is actually very much worth the $5 USD price. I got it on sale for a little less than $4, so it's a keeper for sure. I was having trouble at first, and then my oldest son picked it up and figured it out, even though it is a little lacking on the tutorial side for my liking. So you are trying to survive, by crafting weapons from nearby materials, and sometimes building up barriers to slow down the onslaught of zombies. There are limited amounts of guns to use, and reloading is sometimes not timely enough to prevent injury, damage or death. You are usually better off clubbing the zombies are few times because it is quicker. Crafting needs to occur in Workshop areas, and the game is good about making it obvious which materials can be assembled to make a weapon. There is quite a bit here, albeit this game could use some good updates and add more detail, better graphic, etc. For the price, it is a steal.

I even was can't play, because I listened to a round cartoon moron talked a nonsense for a few minutes (skipping tutorials for noobs is obviously not the developers' idea). And moving (♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ teleport) isn't normal in any VR game. Obviously, the game was made for stupid children. My nerves couldn't take it anymore and I returned the game.

Dead buggy garbage. Another early access swindle.
