About Assassin's Creed® Syndicate

✦ AI summary

Play as Jacob or Evie Frye, twins with contrasting combat styles—Jacob's brutal direct attacks versus Evie's lethal stealth—as you fight your way across Victorian London's iconic landmarks. Build a criminal empire, hijack vehicles, and wage gang warfare across a massive open world while taking down rivals and freeing the oppressed from industrial London's corruption.

DUAL CHARACTERS, DUAL COMBAT STYLES

As the brash, rebellious Jacob Frye, put up your dukes and take enemies on with lightning-fast multikills and countermoves with your arsenal of weapons. As his twin sister Evie, master the art of stealth as a relentless Assassin who has perfected the silent, swift strike.

EXPLORE THE FAST-PACED WORLD OF INDUSTRIAL LONDON

From Buckingham Palace to Big Ben, fight and triumph across the massive open world of Victorian London. Use parkour across moving vehicles to track down enemies or escape after a daring raid, hijack carriages to engage in a no-holds-barred street race, or blaze a trail of destruction aboard steamboats along the River Thames.

LEAD THE LONDON UNDERWORLD

Establish Great Britain’s fiercest gang, the only force that can challenge the elite and defeat rival gangs. Infiltrate enemy strongholds by using an arsenal of weapons to take over London’s underworld. From robbing trains to rescuing child laborers, bring justice to London’s dangerous streets.

Developed and published by Ubisoft in 2015, AC Syndicate is the 8th main game in the universe, back with the emphasis on transversal movement and a story that feels fitting to the previously presented lore. Set in an industrial revolution era London, choose which twin you’ll control (although some story missions are locked to specific characters) fighting against the templar control, that uses organized crime to control the population and always seeking mysterious relics from the Isu. Spread around a large open map, mysteries, side quests, activities, and main missions are present, all kept behind a leveling system that helps keep the challenge present. From brawling matches to investigations, you can choose what activity to participate in, all giving experience, money, and items for a new crafting system. Removed from the game is the multiplayer segments, which can be a positive considering the future of the game and missions that otherwise could be hard if not impossible to complete if multiplayer was an obligation. Another new addition to the game is a moving base, in form of a steam train. There you have access to your bank, that gathers passive income from your gang, a sho…

This was the game that put me off Assassin’s Creed until I wanted to try Valhalla. Always had a negative view on it, but I wanted to give it another chance and see if my opinion changed over the years. Setting, brilliant. Living the UK and getting to roam around London was good fun. The World War 1 section took me by surprise, but it was well done considering how short it was. The vibe of the Jack The Ripper DLC was completely different from the main game, a lot of tension and some of the new spots in the game add to it, especially Lady O’s mansion. We need more Horror style AC games! Characters… boring. I’m not fan of Jacob or Evie, they don’t have the charm of Ezio or Arno, but their stories just aren’t very interesting. I still don’t know much about them after finishing other than they lost their father and mother. Just not doing it for me. Gameplay, oh boy this is where it lost me originally. They took so much control away from the character, no free jumping, the combat is just too drawn out that I’m missing the slow, reaction based combat of AC2! It’s not as bad as I remembered it, but it’s not my favourite in terms of gameplay, that goes to AC4. The ending was really lackl…

I really think this games is overhated to oblivion and it's probably one of my favorite AC games. I personally really like the Frye twins and them having different skills is cool. Also the combat is one of the best in the franchise in my opinion. It looks fluid and feels brutal and punchy and the multi-finishers feel great. Also many people dislike the grappling hook but I think it's really fun and works. I get that the parkour isn't exactly like the other games but I like that they tried something different. Also having to use smaller concealed weapons was another cool thing I liked that made the weapons different to the other games.
