Bad School Boy is a badly made 2D retro pixel action/physics puzzle game where you take on the role of a schoolboy in detention and other classroom/school environments and must fling balls of paper at other students using a simple artillery trajectory/power mechanism. It's very shallow, dumbed down an uninteresting gameplay coupled with a deplorably bad technical implementation. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics. Some of the defects in the game can be attributed to the choice of using the Construct 2/Construct 3 game engine/toolset. This is a very poor quality toolset sometimes used by amateur developers as …

The base idea is genius: help this boy cheat on tests at school by throwing paper balls to his classmates during the test, so that they pass him answers, all while avoiding the watchful eye of the teacher. Quite generous from them, given they are repaid with mischief the boy causes every other stage! This serves to accumulate cards to use for special bonuses, like paper balls that reach the target more easily, extra time, or glue to slow the teacher down - which can easily backfire if he ends up blocked while looking in the player's direction. When you look past such an original idea, the gameplay is similar to those old games where you have to regulate the power and height of a cannon before firing a shot, with two gauges to regulate the length and height of the throw, hoping the paper ball lands on a desk. The card-collecting levels are much simpler, as you simply point and shoot. Oddly, the game didn't have mouse control at first, it was added only in 2020. I used the word "hope" because while the idea is fun, it depends a lot on luck: both gauges move back and forth quite fast and even have to be activated at the same time. Consequently, besides some low-power throws towards n…

The Idea of the game is unique and funny in my opinion, however the game is absolute garbage. The physics of the game suck, the normal controls sometimes dont work and the game crashes on good hardware. I can not recommend this feverdream of programming. You are better of saving your money and buying a kebab or something. I mean the money is better spend on literally every other product you can buy!!!
