Bad Girl

It looks like, lucky me, I get to write the first review for "Bad Girl", which is one of literally thousands of lazy, low effort 2D retro pixel platformers infesting the Steam store, representing a desperate effort from talentless Starbucks and McDonalds employees to escape their minimum wage day jobs. "Bad Girl" has you controlling a Russian anime/nerd girl (it's hard to tell, the "art" is really bad) through a series of single screen platformer levels. Shoot the monsters with your gun using a twin stick style aiming mechanic. Once all the enemies are dead you can go through a portal to the next level. Aside from the obvious ugly retro pixel graphics that put this game far below minimum acceptable quality standard for PC, resolution is fixed, controls are fixed. The developer also added a really needless, hideous screen filter that you can't turn off. That's right, they found a way to make ugly pixel "art" look even [i]worse[/i]. I can't recommend anyone pays $4.50 for this. Or any money at all, for that matter, because it doesn't even compare well against the thousands of other 2D retro pixel platformers from other Starbucks employees pretending to be game developers …

Garbage

This seemingly looks like a pseudo-sequel of Angry Girl (delisted) by... different devs? Same devs under a different name? Either way, it's an improvement as you can collect coins for health upgrades and there's a boss at the end. It's rather easy as you have unlimited lives, though some levels can be challenging if you don't have (or lost) extra health upgrades. For around only 20-30 minutes of gameplay, $3 looks a bit steep though.
