I had a lot of fun with this game's base campaigns. The strategy gameplay is something I've been searching for a long time, the grid based movement is simple, though Slitherine refused to make it that way: you've got yourself armor angles, different ways of moving (move fast, dash or hunt), and a ton of terrain modifiers that don't make the game feel too flat... and frustrating when you don't realize that this one part of the map has a marsh that your vehicles can't pass through. Every map feels like a tactical puzzle instead of a simple 'this goes here, that goes there', especially those ultra fortified maps like Assault and Exploitation... You really need to find balance between moving fast to capture the objective and not losing your entire army to Flaks scattered across bunkers. The game features community campaigns, too... I really like that feature, you just need to download them and you've got more content for yourself. I'm still doing the Kursk DLC, the quality of the campaigns refused to go down. Definitely buy this game, you'll have yourself a ton of fun and tactical frustration.

I like that the game is at squad level, and that there are many historic units and equipment.
