About Unity of Command II

✦ AI summary

Take command of Western Allied forces in WWII, managing divisions, supply lines, and logistics across a branching campaign where every playthrough rewrites history. Master the fog of war, coordinate headquarters and theater assets, and execute deep encirclement operations in this highly polished turn-based strategy sequel that's easy to learn but brutally difficult to master.

Built on a brand new bespoke 3D engine, the game retains Unity of Command’s signature art style and delivers highly polished fluid gameplay. Easily accessible yet hard to master, Unity of Command II is the highly anticipated sequel to the cult classic that’s been turning novice players into battle-hardened grognards since 2011.

Unity of Command II lets you take command of Western Allies during the Second World War. You will manage your army’s divisions as well as their supply and logistics. For the first time in Unity of Command you will face Fog of War. Reveal the unknown by capturing enemy soldiers and launching recon to gather intel on enemy troop positions. Enemy panzers will seek to capture your units’ stragglers — regroup and strike back!

Key Features

  • Dynamic Campaign — Rewrite the history of the Second World War with a branching campaign where no two playthroughs are alike.
  • Headquarters — This new feature places army headquarters on the map, from which you will direct unit reorganization, bridging and resupply. Headquarters are not only essential to reinforcing and recovering lost unit strength, but are also able to deploy special abilities such as Emergency Supply, Motorizing units using HQ trucks, and many more.
  • Theater Assets — This feature from the original game is greatly expanded in Unity of Command II. Wreak havoc behind enemy lines by sabotaging infrastructure. Order your aircraft to provide aerial recon, deliver devastating bombing runs, or sustain units behind enemy lines using air supply assets.
  • Bonus Objectives — Participate in optional history-altering “what-if” objectives — earn the opportunity to Rush for the Apennines and smash through German defenses before they dig in.
  • Fog of War — Deal with your enemies — but you’ll have to find them first. Reveal enemy positions by capturing stragglers, upgrading the HQ and using its special abilities to uncover enemy special defense markers.
  • Deep Operations — Unity of Command changed the world of turn-based strategy games forever by introducing its signature feature, supply lines. Keep a watchful eye on your logistics while planning to strike deep beyond enemy lines, sever supply lines and encircle enemy units.
  • Accessible Scenario Editor — Unity of Command II features a full-fledged Allied campaign, with the addition of several defining battles of WWII that can be experienced from the Axis side. The game comes with a built-in scenario editor, allowing players to create and share new battlefields using the integrated Steam Workshop support.

Too much content locked behind DLC's. Shameless money grab. Having to pay for Russian, German, Italian, Polish, Finnish and even French content is a slap in the face for a WWII sim. All you get for the base purchase is 3 small Africa campaign's and then 1 grand campaign of the invasion of Sicily/Italy going into and thru D-Day (only played as US/UK, you're going to have to pay for anything Axis or Commintern related) to the ALMOST fall of Berlin ... but not quite. Berlin costs extra...

I tried unity of command 2 at first i thought cool lets do the basic tutorials and then played tutorial campaign and refunded. I never seen something so dumb , one unit hits your supply line and well everyone now is unable to attack ever to re-establish supplies beyond this point .. every unit beyond this point has to retreat and because they all run out of ammo magicly because a disorganized squad hit a railway behind enemy lines with no ammo either and then everyone in the front runs out of supplies magicly to in a single turn and the only move you can then make is a full on mass retreat. Want to add supply trucks? Well only on these railroads who barely cross 10cm into the map you have extra trucks like in the tutorial but the railroad oil supplies are only only allowed 5 hexes in so what does it matter. Someone out of supply at the edge of the map without any context randomly or starving next to a supply line? Well good luck figuring that out even when it says supply is 1 - 10 he will be unsupplied somehow but the tutorial on supply told otherwise when within range it should technicly still be fine. Holy is this dumb , wargame disguised as a bad puzzle game with the most no…

Very Addictive. Easy to learn, hard to master type of game. Numerous and Alt History (forks) scenarios make for great replayability.

Slick hex-based wargame, easy to recommend. You like wargames, or are curious about wargames, this is a must buy.

One of my favorite wargames. The combat system has remarkable depth, and the logistics system adds another fascinating strategic layer by imposing meaningful planning constraints. It also enables surgical strikes against enemy supply hubs, allowing you to cripple entire sections of the front by cutting off their logistics.
