Bell Bot

This game is okay. It got really old really fast. There's not a lot to it, it's far too easy, and there wasn't a lot of progression to be felt. Here's how bad it is. I got tired of the game after four minutes in. I had to launch the game and wait for two minutes in order to leave this review. This feels more like a proof of concept than an actual game.

Bell Bot is a cute little delivery game that I enjoyed because it turns something as ordinary as delivering food into a surprisingly hectic driving challenge. I play as a food delivery robot moving around a college campus, picking up orders and getting them to customers while trying not to destroy myself along the way. I liked how the peaceful campus setting contrasts with the constant danger on the roads. The main gameplay revolves around navigating between delivery points. I have to read the map, find the right route and avoid pedestrians and vehicles that can get in my way. I enjoyed the pressure of trying to complete as many orders as possible because every trip involves a small risk. Taking the safest route is not always the fastest option. The campus is also a nice environment for this kind of game. I can travel through interconnected paths, cross roads and move around buildings while trying to keep an eye on where I need to go next. I liked that the navigation itself becomes part of the challenge instead of simply following a glowing marker from one location to another. Simply garbage can with simply mechanics and delivering. Also robot attacking you on every next delivery. Not recommended at all.

keeps on crashing

There was no sensitivity setting that I could see, and the game-play gets old fast. For a free game it's alright to entertain for a few minutes, but the timer goes on for so long it's kinda boring to play through to the end-screen ([spoiler]which just said 'you lost' and gives an option to restart[/spoiler]). I'm surprised to see something like this on steam rather than itch. I hope the developers enjoyed making it :)
