Bernackels' Shoggoth

Neat game, fun to mess around with. Controls, game and graphics all felt and looked smooth. Was actually really entertaining. A bit older and you can see this when you play but for a free game and some open time on a weekend, it's worth giving it a try.

Sadly a dead game. You can play with friends but otherwise unplayable. Gorgeous but dead.

Игра "Bernackels' Shoggoth" – это глоток свежего (хотя и отвратительно пахнущего рыбой) воздуха в жанре хоррор-выживания. Графика намеренно пиксельная и грубая, что, как ни странно, добавляет атмосфере безысходности и клаустрофобии. Шум, хрипы и общая неопределенность только усиливают эффект. Сюжет простой, но жуткий: оказавшись на заброшенной буровой платформе, игрок должен выжить, избегая столкновений с Шогготом. Ресурсы крайне ограничены, и каждый выстрел, каждое зажжённое факельное освещение - важное решение. Игра довольно сложная и требует тактического подхода. Прятаться, отвлекать, использовать окружение – вот ключи к выживанию. Атмосфера гнетущей угрозы отлично передана, заставляя сердце стучать быстрее. Даже после смерти хочется попробовать снова, чтобы хоть немного продвинуться дальше и раскрыть тайны платформы. Несмотря на минималистичный стиль, игра умудряется напугать до мурашек. Рекомендую всем любителям лавкрафтовской атмосферы и хардкорного выживания. Единственный минус - хотелось бы больше разнообразия в окружении и поведении Шоггота.
