✦ AI summary

Players are deeply divided on this game. Those who can play it appreciate the atmospheric horror experience with effective scares and a contained ghost story, but a significant portion report severe technical issues including game-breaking freezes after the opening cutscene, extreme performance problems, and numerous audio-visual bugs that make it unplayable. Even when functional, complaints about poor lighting design, sound balancing, and puzzle design frustrate progression.

For a game it's... fine. But there are so many issues on so many layers I cannot recommend it even for free. Extreme lag, terrible lighting, bad sound balancing, voice bugging out, loading that interrupts gameplay, protagonist speaking in a manner that doesn't fit the current events, puzzles that are hardly any challenge.... except where you have to find objects that can take forever to find due to bad lighting. Anything further than 2 meters ahead of you is pitch black if there isn't a light source. Obnoxious heartbeat sound. Braindead actions of the one we try to follow. And in the final sequence I had to look up walkthrough, as it is a giant black space with <1 frame per second. No running either. Avoid.

Game opens up to the main menu just fine. Start a new game, and it goes through the opening cutscene just fine. It then loads the first scene, with the car stopped, headlights lighting up in front of it. As soon as I do *anything*, any input at all, mouse or keyboard, the game freezes. And goes to a grey screen. Only choice left is to switch back to the desktop and stop the game. I can't evaluate the game itself, because it simply doesn't work. Nothing past the opening cutscene. First user input of any kind kills it.

A short but atmospheric experience with a nice level of spookiness and scares to make you feel like something is watching as you make your way through the dark manor.

If you like simple shortform horror experiences, then this little gem is for you. A couple good jump scares that don't over stay their welcome. The puzzles aren't terribly hard but do require you to pay attention. The story is a nice self contained ghost/obsession story. Final thoughts are try it out. It's free and newer devs need the love. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
