Well Dweller

A nice game. A bit on the easier side, and pretty short. Has a lot of references to classic sad folk tales, and somewhat unusual movement mechanics based on throwing your matchstick into the wall and standing on it. Having some more challenging segments would help it to feel more rewarding. No health upgrades, and damage is only upgraded through charms. Currency is a bit unbalanced in the sense that you can quickly max out all charms, and then the only thing you can spend it on are extra charm notches (of which you can basically get as many as you like).

Very fun bite sized metroidvania. Solid movement and combat mechanics, there's probably something here you haven't seen before, which is impressive considering how many metroidvanias there are these days. The graphics and characters are cute, and the story does a good enough job motivating you to get through the game. The one thing some might not like is the bite-sized thing I mentioned. The game is fairly easy, and while I wouldn't say the game world is small you'll probably make it through pretty quickly. I 100%ed it in 8 hours on normal difficulty (although I generally get through games a bit quicker than average). Anyway this could be a good thing or bad thing for you, just keep in mind that Hollow Knight this is not.

Highly recommend this cute and cozy metroidvania style game. The siblings are silly, the worldbuilding is phenomenal, and the controls are usually consistent and reliable. I completed every achievement in around 28 hours. The game didn't overstay its welcome or feel too short. I loved the under water section and wished there was more of it. The flashlight section was my least favorite as well as the chase section and some of the traps. During the chase section, it would have been a lot better if you had put checkpoints in there where it fades to the next section. Losing near the end of it and starting all the way over is a bit brutal. I was also disappointed that there was no achievement for buying every item from the shop. I intentionally did this hoping for an achievement and there was none. This is probably my favorite game of 2026 so far. Great job on the atmosphere and gameplay, plus making normal mode more accessible for those of us who don't want something ridiculously challenging.
