About Blackwind

Blackwind is a top-down sci-fi action game that puts you in the shoes of a teenager trapped inside a prototype battle armor suit during an alien invasion. Face off against enemies, cut through their ranks, and fight back in a last-ditch attempt to stop a planetary invasion.

When the starship Pandora is shot down, James Hawkins finds himself trapped inside a military prototype Battle Frame armor as he hurtles towards Medusa-42. As the Raknos hordes ravage the planet and leave every human mining colony in ruins, James doesn’t have long to discover how to operate the Battle Frame if he wants to survive his dangerous surroundings and find his missing father.

But James isn’t alone on his quest – an unexpected ally hides inside his Battle Frame…
  • Choose your playstyle: Engage in melee combat, shoot at will, launch missiles at enemies, or use special Battle Suit powers to survive showdowns.
  • Fiercely terminate your opponents with brutal moves.
  • Evolve your Battle Frame with new powers and expand your skill tree.
  • Use the Battle Frame Drone to expand your fighting and exploring capabilities in the single-player campaign.
  • Local Coop Mode: the Battle Frame and its Drone can be controlled by two players.

Game's not bad. It's just that bad things simply outweight good things. + Okay-ish graphics. Simple game to turn of the brain and just shoot/hit some enemies. 90% of achievements can be completed without ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with guides. Also, the difficulty doesn't affect achievements so you can safely play on easy. - A little bit pricey for it's content. Should be around 15-20$. Reticle works very badly with camera meaning that you always shoot slightly off the place you're aiming. Very inconvenient. Absolutely retarded AI that just blindly runs at you, sometimes even ranged enemies come close to you. So, in order for the game to be at least somewhat difficult their damage is ridiculous, especially melee enemies that can kill you in few hits. Also, many enemies stun-lock you. Melee feels weird, when you start your combo, you get locked into the direction of your first attack and continue attacking at same direction, so if enemy moves side way you can't just turn mid-combo (sometimes you can, but in completely random direction) and you'll continue attacking empty air. Also, some enemies feel like they ignore your melee attacks and attack you while you're attacking them, staggering you. 1 exe…

Blackwind is nothing complicated, it achieves its simple goals fairly well: for the most part. There are aspects that lack fine tuning, some jank, but overall a solid project. Difficult to add specific detail but would play more.

Decent game. Not sure what the mixed reviews are about. Twin stick shooter has it all. Twin stick aiming? Check Dash move? Check Fast melee and heavy melee with combos? Check Jump with double jump? Check. Upgrades for everything? Check. Challenging combat? Check. Decent Graphics and lighting? Check. Runs good on modest machine? Check. NO STAMINA SYSTEM TO MANAGE AND BOG YOU DOWN JUST TO KILL THE FUN? Check. Now I am not that far yet, but I do have a couple of complaints. One, the special kill moves should be more interactive with other enemies, like grab one enemy to auto-attack the nearest enemies (either melee if close enough or throw if out of melee range) instead of just pausing all enemies so they just stand around while you tear the limbs off their friend....THAT alone would be a HUGE improvement in combat game play. The fetch quests, keys and unlocking doors and such, is a bit tedious and there is not a lot go search for while exploring, but you can smash lots of stuff and get exp and sometimes health...so that is fun. Full price the game is a bit hard to enthusiastically recommend, because it is fairly basic and stripped down. But that can be a selling point to s…

A quick little adventure, but not worth the full price.
