Bashtronaut

Pretty hard but fun game to play. You need an controller.

I'm surprised that [b]Bashtronaut[/b] seems to have just slipped through the cracks It has a really great aesthetic, parodies corporate America in a similar (though admittedly not nearly as strong) way as Robocop, and a solid hack-and-slash foundation really ties it all together. It's far from a perfect game and there are a few questionable design choices but nothing that breaks the foundation. It looks like it was doing the Early Access thing, so maybe there was some sort of troubled history I missed? Anyway, I really liked the game! [b]Bashtronaut[/b] is an overhead hack-and-slash arena game. Through a series of 40 rooms (plus 3 tutorial rooms), you have to smash, dodge, and counter various space monsters and robots. Defeat every monster that appears in each room and continue onto the next one. We've all seen this a thousand times, you know how this works. I won't even attempt to claim this game is breaking new ground. It does do this very well though! The rhythm of the game does take a little bit of time to get use to. I both can AND will out class the IBG corporation in due time...[/h3] *Big thanks to the Dev for providing me a free key, however my review is my 100% honest thoughts with the game* Bashtronaut is a fun, wacky space themed hack and slash game filled with retro love, nostalgia and arcade aesthetic. The universe and jokes it lives in tells an entertaining story that keeps you interested what you'll find next. Each level is quite short and simple, but don't let that fool you. This games difficulty quickly ramps up right after the games tutorial hub (World 1). Parry timing is forgiving, Controls are responsive, but confusing at times especially for Keyboard and mouse (this most likely is just a skill issue on my part lol), your Health will be very crucial to your playthrough as there's few consumables that will replenish it and the health carries over from level to level and world to world. With a massive emphasis on Stamina you will rely on parrying and dodging to get away Scott-free (they don't cost stamina, only attacks do).
