A mediaeval grand strategy MMO where you can farm, fight, rule and basically build your own legacy from scratch. That pitch alone sounds like something that could eat up hundreds of hours if done right. To give credit where it’s due, getting into the game is smoother now. Steam login has been added, so you can jump in without creating a separate account. It’s a small but meaningful improvement. The game has also introduced its first Battleborne Season, bringing a Battle Pass system with free and paid rewards, including Heroes, resources and progression items. That said, once you actually get past the login screen and start playing…well…things still go downhill really fast lol.
About This Game

Storyline
The game yaps a lot about building your legacy, creating a lineage, shaping your hero’s destiny and bla bla bla. It sounds deep and meaningful, like your decisions are going to matter in some…

Fans of Grand Strategy and Real-Time Tactics will really enjoy this game. While the scale is immense, the game manages to feel incredibly personal through its attention to detail. The transition to tactical, troops-based combat is seamless. The way you command your forces across the terrain captures that classic "General" feeling perfectly, requiring both foresight and quick reflexes. One of the highlights is the progression of the "farming" and resource management system. Early on, it requires a hands-on approach, but once give 20min to the game IA to take charge as You will, the game opens up. Allowing you to shift your entire focus toward regional conquest. Kudos to the villagers animations of them living their daily live while recharge energy.

Interesting gameplay concept, but repetitive, limited content and strong focus on spending money.

If you have a craving for the "feel good" aspects of early 2000s games that truly feel like an immersion into another world (i.e. Elder Scrolls, Skyrim type medieval games), this game is for you. Blocklords presents you with a graphics style that feeds into that nostalgia while giving you both slow-burner battle strategy and peaceful farming/hunting/gathering/mining medieval life, which makes it very replayable regardless of your mood when you get back from a long workday. I look forward to accumulating playtime on this game. The taxation system across regions also is very interesting and may give you a chuckle in these times. Furthermore, I appreciate that despite being a free game, it does not constantly overwhelm you with microtransactions; it is hard to find free games like that anymore these days.
