About Bloodquest From HELL

Underpaid and overworked—hell might be better than the burger joint.Bloodquest From Hell is a first-person exploration puzzle game set in a grotesque dimension of meat, fire, and minimum wage. Developed as a senior project at Ringling College of Art and Design’s Game Art department, the game blends surreal puzzles with an aesthetic inspired by 1980s horror and fantasy films. You play as a fry cook teetering on the edge of unemployment. When a mysterious portal opens behind the grill, your only shot at keeping your job is to step through—and get cooking.Key Features:
  • First-Person Exploration: Navigate a grotesque otherworld filled with meat corridors, and strange denizens.
  • Puzzle-Focused Gameplay: Solve bizarre environmental puzzles to gather infernal ingredients and unlock new areas of this nightmare.
  • Interactive Narrative: Make deals and trade with the inhabitants of hell—some friendly, some… less so.
  • Retro 1980s Aesthetic: Inspired by the visual flair of 1980s and cult classics.
The portal's open, the fryer’s cold, and hell is hungry. Time to clock in.

"Bloodquest From HELL" is one of literally thousands of student projects infesting Steam. It's from Ringling College of Art and Design in Florida. While student projects tend to be better quality than most "amateur" made games, we must still question what value such projects have for gamers. As with all student projects, this isn't really a fully fleshed out game, it's just the result of an academic exercise, and as such it has much more limited value as a game than a professionally developed game would have. Educational institutions should not be using Steam as a dumping ground for homework assignments (especially if the students didn't even pass the course). Sure, it helps their marketing and helps the students feel good about themselves, but this is another case of a business putting themselves before the needs of gamers. This is a great example of looks not being everything... while a great game has to have fantastic visuals (and this does), it also needs to be backed up by quality content and a high level of polish, which this student project does not have. A short, somewhat jokey adventure game about a fast food employee sent to another dimension, but the game is a bug…

This game definitely has a lot going for it. The general story and the characters are good, and it's fully voice acted. The game plays very well, and is a pretty casual time as far as puzzle solving goes. The game looks really nice, and the NPC models are great. There was one thing that bothered me the whole time though: as awesome as the game looks, I had severe blurring when moving the camera, so walking around and looking at everything was hard to look at sometimes. This could be an issue on my PC, or it could be that the game could have used a little more optimization, who knows? If you have 15-20 minutes and are in the mood for a sort of dark, sort of gross, but fairly light-hearted romp on a quest to gather restaurant ingedients, then this is the game for you. That's a bloodquest, just so you know (not a regular quest).

Silly short game about collecting "very normal" burger ingredients Its quite janky but I think the premise is silly and it looks and sounds cool, worth checking out for a quick 20-30 min experience.

This game changed my life for the better. When the burger chain ran out of ingredients I thought my life was over. Thankfully, there was a portal! Overall, worth the FREE.99 I spent. Very cute and well made little game here.

One moment it was a bit disgusting, wondering around, clicking every inch, but overall interesting idea for a game
