About Bonfire

The latest animated experience from the award-winning Baobab Studios. In Bonfire, you play the lead role in an interactive narrative. As Space Scout 817, you’re on a mission to discover a new home for the human race. Too bad your piloting skills lack… precision. You crash-land at night on a mysterious unknown planet three-hundred light-years from Earth. Your only source of light is your makeshift bonfire. Beyond its glow everything falls to darkness. And what are those strange noises coming from the alien jungle?

To survive you only have your instincts and robot sidekick, Debbie, voiced by Ali Wong, Debbie’s companionship comes with a signature wariness. When a chance meeting with a local inhabitant further steers your mission off course, you learn that unexpected encounters just might result in lasting friendships. You’ll have the opportunity to embrace, explore and influence the world around you. In the end, the choice is yours: Will you follow your captain or your conscience?

- Use VR controllers to play, eat, and build your bonfire
- Explore the crash-site with your trusty scanner
- Work with Debbie, your robot sidekick to repair communications
- Interact and befriend alien lifeforms
- Defend yourself from alien predators using fire
- Your choices affect the outcomes of the story

✦ AI summary

Players praise the game's charm, cute aesthetics, and well-crafted storytelling in this short interactive VR movie experience, with some hoping for more episodes or similar stories. However, many report significant technical issues including crashes, loading problems, and compatibility problems across different VR headsets, making it unplayable for numerous users. The brevity of the experience is also a point of contention, with some feeling it's too short for the asking price compared to similar free alternatives from the same studio.

A short and incredibly cute interactive movie about being crash-landed on an alien planet with a robot helper. Very enjoyable experience - I hope more episodes or different stories are in development. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nk1jBR0fRCM

Works on Reverb G2. Classic Baobab's short VR animation with interactive elements. A bit tricky to launch: the app tries to open a link in Microsoft Store, then gets stuck during loading until the main window is reset in focus.

It’s very short and cute but should honestly be free. There are better free movies from google or Boabab studios like ‘Crow’.

This was an extremely charming (yet short) adventure ! Highly recommend if you want to experience a nice little story that's really well made.
