Bug Attack! is a very simple arcade game that takes the old idea of defending yourself from endless waves and turns the enemies into bugs. I am trying to protect a building while insects keep appearing from the ground in random places, with the number of bugs increasing as I survive longer. The basic idea reminds me of old arcade games like Missile Command and Space Invaders, but instead of protecting cities from missiles or shooting aliens, I am dealing with a growing bug infestation. It is a very straightforward game, but I think that simplicity suits it. The main thing I like is how quickly the game gets going. There is no long introduction or complicated system to learn. I just start shooting bugs and try to keep my building alive for as long as possible. As I score points I can earn bug bombs that clear out dangerous groups and repair kits that restore some of the building's health. I have to decide when to use these because the attacks eventually become too much to handle with normal shooting alone.
