About Calvino Noir

The film noir stealth game. Calvino Noir is the exploratory, sneaking adventure through the 1930s European criminal underworld. Architecture meets Noir as you become unwillingly entangled in a revolutionist plot. Sneak through sewers, across rooftops, and past guards in this dark and mysterious journey.

Play as a disparate group of low-lifes, loners and last-chancers as they fight for the future of a city sliding slowly into the gutter. The characters of Calvino Noir exist in a moral universe which knows only shades of grey. Some are broken souls, some are merely damaged - but all are fighting to forge a future in an ugly world ruled by those whose hearts are cruel and dark.

Although inspired by the futuristic dystopian visions of Deus Ex and Blade Runner, Calvino Noir is a throwback to an era that could easily be from Earth's past. The game is heavily noir influenced, but at the same time progressive, reflecting a somewhat modernist take on the classic genre.

Calvino Noir:

- Seven levels splits across three acts

- Fully voiced rich and immersive narrative

- Stunning visual style inspired by classic film noir cinema

- Explore a richly detailed and atmospheric world.

- Co-ordinate multiple unique characters with a range of skills

- Use stealth or brute force to face those that stand in your way.

Calvino Noir is a stylish stealth game with a unique noir atmosphere. The art and story are intriguing, but the gameplay can feel slow and repetitive. Puzzles are basic, and the controls can be a bit clunky. It’s an interesting experience, but not for everyone.

A great beginner game to get a grip on wsad and learn keyboard & mouse. I just so happen to love black & white movies and noir games so the aesthetic, jazz, rain, thunder/lightening, and voice lines was just a nice added touch

Calvino Noir is a stealth-focused adventure that distinguishes itself through an unforgettable noir aesthetic and a politically charged narrative set in an alternate version of 1930s Europe. Developed and published by Calvino Noir, Ltd., the game drops players into a nation on the verge of collapse, where authoritarian rule, underground resistance movements, and widespread fear dominate everyday life. Rather than emphasizing combat or fast-paced action, the experience is built around patience, calculated decision-making, and remaining unseen. From the opening moments, the game establishes a bleak atmosphere that revolves around secrecy, betrayal, and survival, encouraging players to immerse themselves in a world where every shadow could conceal either refuge or danger. One of the game's defining strengths is its remarkable visual presentation. Every location is rendered with a striking monochrome art style that captures the mood of classic noir films while introducing subtle modern design sensibilities. Harsh lighting, deep shadows, and carefully framed environments create a cinematic quality that makes each chapter feel like an interactive crime thriller. The visual identity is c…

Calvino Noir is a stylish noir puzzle game set in a shadowy, monochrome world inspired by classic crime films. You play as a journalist caught in a web of crime and corruption, using stealth and careful observation to move through dangerous situations. The game is very much about mood and presentation. Its black-and-white visuals, dramatic lighting, and jazzy soundtrack create a strong noir atmosphere. Gameplay is slow and deliberate, encouraging patience rather than quick reactions, which makes it feel tense but thoughtful. It’s an experience that works best if you enjoy atmosphere-driven games where style, story, and tone matter more than complexity or action. Think Limbo meets detective noir.

Calvino Noir works fine on a Mac running Crossover. Quite an enjoyable game, but can get a little repetitive at times.

It fails at the most basic things for stealth which are: consistency and clear feedback. If you are an avid fan of stealth, like I am, and have a lot of patience to learn how the system works you might get some enjoyment.
