Candle Daemon

This is a simple action game that explains the motivation of Jack the Candle Demon, and why he gets involved in Chelsea's ongoing saga. It is a side story that takes place just before the Witch 2 game. As a side-scrolling action game, this is enjoyable to me. Not too hard, and there are a couple special attacks to break up the slash-slash-slash monotony. The action mainly serves as the effort you must expend in order to get to the cut scenes, which are the main attractions. The cut scenes are beautifully drawn, with many different characters, all gorgeously designed. The dev has really improved his artwork over time, and each game looks better than the last. There are a variety of situations to tickle different fetishes. Since most people play this game for the cut scenes, they should be satisfied with what they get. TL/DR: Simple action game with great cut scenes. Decent investment for those who have been supporting this dev. Newcomers should play the main Witch 1 - 3 games first, as you will understand and enjoy the side story a lot more.

This series gets increasingly hallucinogenic and nonsensical as you go. At this point it's just a pastiche of horror assets and sometimes nudes. It's another "woooo, portals and dreamscapes" kind of thing where just any random horror elements are slapped together and you're collecting puzzle pieces. I just had such a good time with the Witch series that I keep buying this dev's stuff but it's kinda getting weirdly schizoid and somehow, despite being a straightforward side scroller, there are optimization issues on some levels.

Controls are rough. REALLY rough. Artwork is ok. I'd say middle of the road.
