I'd definitely recommend this game, although I'm not sure if it is better or worse than the one it follows. Gameplay wise, its largely better - random items that you pick up and expend are now replaced by skills. Skills have limited but replenishable uses, which means you can find a playstyle that suits you and stick with it for the most part. The art style change was disorienting (as was the shift to 3D), especially going from one right to the other.. It felt like health was a huge issue this time around, both for enemies being huge meat shields toward the end and struggling to keep health up. At some point in upgrading, a flip was switched as I leveled up and I suddenly never had problems with it again. So balancing is a slight issue. Smut scenes I feel were also a step back from the first game - both in acquiring and in general quality. The art is just as good, but there felt like less variety. Also you have to purchase scenes you haven't seen yet through monster deaths. Another balancing issue there - I unlocked the ogre, werewolves and kobold ones very quickly since you get enough kills in one or two runs to unlock them all, but the orcs and demons only appear in the mi…2 found this helpful

Dungeon Escape II: Escape it is. My standards for an NSFW game are pretty low: decent H-scenes, decent gameplay, and optionally, some atmosphere or lore. And while DE might not have deep lore, it excels at everything else. Simple but solid roguelite gameplay with mechanics perfectly fit for the skillset. At first glance I gave this game 2-4 hours, expecting to unlock H-scenes and move on, and here I am, finally finished with 15 hours, expecting to also get the 1st and 3rd parts of the game. Where is the catch? I'd like to start with the atmosphere, for many eroge lack it completely. Atmosphere here is not in the visual design or dialogues, but in the fascinating way the player's feeling of the game intertwines with the story. I'll avoid spoilers, but it's Dungeon Escape for a reason. At some point, right when you're starting to feel powerful enough, a new threat appears and you have to run. With the change in gameplay, the atmosphere also changes. The heroine, who was pretty cocky before, is now afraid - and you're afraid with her. A session goes for 30 minutes by that time, so you don't want to get caught, no matter how good the H-scene waiting for you after defeat. B…1 found this helpful
Some scenes are inappropriate and only appeal to people with obvious mental disorders, while others are just garbage. The game is too simple on its own, and once all the skills are unlocked, you won't need to purchase any other upgrades to complete the game.
Escape Dungeon 2 tries to build on the first game, but unfortunately ends up feeling like a step backwards. Like its predecessor, it includes (+18) content and a simple gameplay loop, but instead of improving the formula, it leans even more into repetition and grind. 🎮 Gameplay The core gameplay is still functional and easy to understand, but it doesn’t evolve in any meaningful way. If you’ve played the first game, this will feel very familiar — maybe too familiar. There’s little innovation, and the mechanics quickly become repetitive. 🔁 Repetition & Grind This is where the game struggles the most. The grind feels even heavier than in the first game: More repetition with less variation Slower and less rewarding progression Longer time required to fully upgrade everything Instead of improving the pacing, it feels like the game stretches the same content further. 🎯 Overall Experience While it’s still playable, the lack of improvements makes it harder to stay engaged. What felt acceptable in the first game becomes more noticeable here. It doesn’t feel like a true upgrade — more like the same experience, but less rewarding. 🏁 Conclusion Esc…
