About Cartonfall: Fortress - Defend Cardboard Castle

BUILD A BASE

Construct high towers, epic castles, cute cottages, armoured bunkers or whatever you imagined - as long as it is made of cardboard boxes. Erect a production line to gain constant supply of resources for your further expansion. The maps are randomized to give you an unique experience and challenge each playthrough.

SET TRAPS

Lure the enemies into deadly traps that will set them on fire, shock them with electricity, freeze them or blow them up, it is up to you which means of destruction you will use. Make your own defense plans and put them into practice. Try different combinations of traps to get better results.

CRAFT WEAPONS

Collect various materials - tubes, cans, wings, batteries or firecrackers and use them to craft unique weapons such as flamethrowers, freezing grenades or exploding planes. Each weapon works in a different way and has a different effect on enemies, so discover the best way to use them.

SURVIVE

The swarms of enemies will be attacking your base from all sides. Each type of enemy requires a different strategy and approach, so be prepared for anything. With each defeated wave, upgrade your base, expand your arsenal and become stronger!

Compared to the original Cartonfall, of which I loved, Cartonfall Fortress is...rather bad. The game feels very abrupt, first of all. One minute your getting some resources when out of nowhere a startling sound shatters the silence and you know that the robots will get to the flag before you do. Second, the enemies are quite drab. They lack in variants that aren't just visual, and all they do is slowly roll on over to the flag, completely unaware of your presence one meter away from them. Third, the game is extremely repetitive. It's always the same: Spawn in, place generators, place a few boxes, and punch the enemies to death because ammo is WAAAY too scarce for me to, ya know, use it for your personal weapons. Maybe you enjoy it more than I did, but I felt it was poor use of my money and time.

The idea behind the game I think it's cool it's a lot of fun and it's very funny but I wish in the next few updates a multiplayer mode.

Ok so, for a few minutes in, it looks really promising, and over all it does still appeal a lot to me visually, but i can't get over the massive amount of bugs in this game! Everything is a bug, seriously. - turrets can be moved inside of the castle deadzone - enemies get stuck in trees, which forces the game to keep going - turrets will shoot into blocks and waste ammo - stepping on a turret randomly damages it - Muting the game does not mute everything - muting the game, and then unmuting, and then leaving may leave the game muted - The game crashed for me just as i was clearing the last 2 enemies in wave 10 (summer) - if you buy some weapon upgrades from the gnome shop, the gui folds over itself, forcing you to get your cursor on a 1 pixel gap if you want to use flame, ice, and water turrets. and then theres just the gameplay issues - in autumn, the thunder is LOUDER THAN ACTUAL THUNDER, even if the game is turned really far down. - card board is generally useless, because it just kind of stops your turrets from interacting with enemies. - waves either last for a really short time, or a really long time. Again theres a lot of unique stuff both gameplay wise and visually, …
