Champions of The Cosmos

Champions of The Cosmos is a fun little arcade style fighting game that I found surprisingly enjoyable. The idea is pretty simple because I am controlling a champion and fighting through different opponents in a cosmic setting. It does not try to be a huge complicated fighting game with dozens of systems, but I liked how quickly I could understand what I was doing. The colourful presentation and strange space themed setting also give it a bit of personality. The combat is the strongest part for me. I have to move around the arena, attack my opponent and avoid getting hit while looking for opportunities to deal damage. The fights are quick enough that I can easily play a few rounds without feeling like I am committing to a huge session. I liked the straightforward controls because they let me focus on timing and positioning instead of having to memorise complicated combinations. I also enjoyed the different champions and the idea of learning how each one plays. Having characters with their own abilities gives me a reason to experiment instead of sticking with the first character I try.
