I don't think we will ever be able to reclaim the nostalgia of the first, but this remake isn't that bad. I guess it is kind of time to move on from the dated original and get used to the next gen.

This is just a Civilisation clone with a sci-fi theme. If that's what's you're looking for, then sure you might like it. For me though, as I tend to find Civilisation games boring, it's a miss.

I’m really new to the space 4x genre and this game is a fantastic entry point to start learning before going to more complex ones like endless space and galactic civ. I’m enjoying the factions and for an older game it looks good I think. I recommend it if you wanna get into the genre but not be overwhelmed at first
