Chapel 3-D: The Ascent

19.04.2026 The game has a nice, visually pleasing style and feels decent to play, but it crashes when I reach a certain point. Unfortunately, I can’t fully evaluate it, so I’ll judge based on the beginning. I only saw two types of mobs and two attack options - melee and magic. The game feels very raw and lacks variety in enemies, weapons, and so on. Hopefully the developer fixes it and adds enough content to keep players engaged for at least a couple of hours. 26.07.2026 The more attention I gave the game, the more I started to realize that it feels like a school project. Sure, the developer could use this as a foundation and turn it into a great game, but apparently they have other goals. There are different types of magic, and each one uses its own type of mana. That is a pretty cool mechanic, but there are only four enemy types. You can skip entire maps just by parkouring through them, the controls and enemy spawning frequently bug out, but at least the game does not crash.

The good: -love the artstyle. -character feels bouncy(in a good way) -Its free. -its 67 megabytes, so small by most game standards. -movement tech bug I found that can send you to heaven. The bad: -no explanation for anything that I could find. -combat feels clunky(in a bad way) -total of 4 enemy types, 2 are identical and I could not find a difference besides one projectile having gravity. -potion system is wack it needs a redo. -the sword needs a system rework, and the spells themselves are fine, its just extremely clunky switching spells. -you have 2 hands why can't you swing your almost weightless blade and shoot? -I would be fine with the fun unintentional movement tech if it didn't have the chance to despawn the play area. -it is not "breakneck" or "violent" and my first thoughts were "this would be a good introductory videogame for a child." A explanation to "going to heaven" Johan .B cross's skeleton is extremely bouncy, to the point where he can bounce off of any surface after falling. The main issue is that the dev for this experience only has a single dimensional line originating from Johan's pelvis pointing down to detect whether of not Johan is touching the floor. For…

cool game.. would buy full version

This game is pretty fun for free to play game it needs a lot of work done but i believe that this game will be legendary in its genre if they add more levels and more spells and characters just keep adding content and maybe add bunnyhop cuz it will be really good in this type of game
