every time i've seen this game it's been entirely different and at the same time exactly as dissapointing. i wish there was a way to download the original itch.io demo but the dev shelved it.

okay so review is based off 1.0 beta and if anything happens between launch and now I'll probably say stuff, but none of this is focused around the current EA build. I wanna tackle my biggest issue with the game as it is first. 80 minute long intro. 80 minutes of a kind of alright (positive, i think with it being a beta in mind i did enjoy it) intro to a campaign and then just putting you in the hub, walking you through the basics, and then you start getting to the orange door. After that, the hub feels kinda empty and bland and there's nothing to do. But god why is it 80 minutes to get the the Very Core part of the game? I felt so drained from the game after that but I knew that I was getting into a different game after that (which isn't a good mindset to have) so I felt like I just needed a breather. There's a few comments on the campaign bit itself, checkpoints feel odd, i got softlocked at the Not Titanfall 2 simulation area because the dialogue stops if you keep going, and you also can kinda just run through a lot of it but that didn't feel too bad. just. 80 minutes of a different game. 1.0 beta is not good. trying to make something the game into something it's not with all the story ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and cutscenes, and neutered the movement. unfortunate

i get its early access, but there just isn't enough here to make me want to play it anymore than i have already. the damage indicators in this game ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ suck, i dont even know what im getting hit by half the time. mid-air movement feels weird, hard to control, like its designed to have you move forwards and forwards only but you'll need to turn around alot of the time so im never really able to use it in my favour, and alot of the time i end up doing unwanted movement stuff just by trying to walk around normally without any added input from my end. maybe that just takes some getting used to. you're supposed to get keys to open bunkers, but depending on your luck a bunker can be anything from decent to an actual detriment that poisons your run, and theres no way to back out of a prompt once you've engaged it. i feel discouraged from spending my shards, because it seems like alot of the items don't do anything of note. i tried upgrading my shotgun, but apart from gaining a sight (which you can't even use, nor would it be helpful to use that on a shotgun) im not really sure what that does, or why you would want to spend 750 shards on that. shards are also particularly annoying to …

The game is fun but needs some work for sure. Kinda wish 1.0 beta felt like the early access in a lot of ways but I have faith in the devs. But please fix the audio in the beta. Multiple times I was berated with a loud noise I could not lower in the settings.
