About Common'hood

Common’hood is a community building and economy management game with highly customizable base building tools. Scavenge for materials, build a home, grow your own food, research new technology, craft new tools, build a new family. Form your community and take it from surviving to thriving!

Highly detailed building tools

Build a thriving community by growing food, crafting shelters, workshops, and eventually high-tech manufacturing facilities. Your workshop gives you access to unique creation materials where every detail is in your hand.

Take care of your settlers

Your settlers will have needs and aspirations. Take them from poverty and misery to becoming key members of a wholesome community.

Let machines do the hard work

Use the large range of building stations to develop unique automated technology. Once the robots start doing the hard work, sit down and relax and see things grow.

Tasty food starts in the farm

Grow a self-sustaining food supply out of a variety of crops, regaining food autonomy in the process! Food items will give you access to a large range of cooking recipes to make your settlers happy.

An abandoned factory with a story

Scavenge the abandoned factory, full of resources, history, memories, and failed intentions. Each corner tells you a little bit more of why this place ended up in ruins.

Contribute to an online catalog of creations!

Design unique habitats and share them online through our in-game online database. Get reputation for contributing to the design of the parts that other players will use. There is nothing like seeing the impact of your ideas out there!

✦ AI summary

Players praise the game's strong concept, story, and aesthetic design, but nearly all negative reviews cite significant technical problems including frequent bugs, game-breaking glitches that prevent progression, and inaccessible achievements that make 100% completion impossible. Beyond the bugs, some players have lost trust in the developers over the use of AI-generated marketing imagery, which they view as hypocritical given the game's themes about ethical working conditions and environmental responsibility.

I liked their former game (Block'hood), liked the story, liked the concept. But like all the other said, the game clearly lacks polish and bug fixing that would make it enjoyable. I dropped it at some point because the way you advanced at the begining with bugs as well were a bit overwhelming, but planned to give it another try later. Now I come back to the page and I see devs used AI-generated imagery "for marketing purpose" ?? What a bunch of bloody posers! How could you make at least TWO games about working conditions, respecting you environment, and more generally about the downward slide of capitalism. Only to just turn around and use LLMs like it's nothing? I'm done with these games, my trust has been broken.

I love the idea of this game, but… It is broken, tons of bugs, broken achievements. And it is forsaken by devs. DO NOT BUY IT!

I bought this game as I saw great potential in it. When I played it years ago, there are lots of bugs in it. I am accustom to playing early access games with lots of bugs so I was okay with it knowing the devs will fix it in years to come. Now I am revisiting and saw in the game page that the last update was 2023. Somehow, the dev seemed to have abandoned the game. My honest take, it's not worth buying this game at this state.

I really liked the concept behind this game. A short gameplay video I came across on YouTube convinced me to give this cheap little game a try and see if I could build something from nothing, just as the premise of the game suggests. The graphics are, to put it mildly, not particularly attractive, but I decided that the concept and gameplay mechanics would make up for the lack of visual appeal. The beginning was actually quite pleasant. I blamed any inconveniences on my unfamiliarity with the interface and the game's mechanics. After about 12 hours of playing, however, it became painfully obvious that the game is riddled with bugs, glitches, and unfinished features. The music is another issue. It's basically the same depressing tune playing over and over, to the point where after about three hours it starts making you feel physically ill. Combined with the graphics, it creates a rather unpleasant overall experience. And then there are the problems you encounter at practically every turn. NPCs constantly lose their assignments to specific tasks. Beds have to be reassigned to NPCs over and over again after every night they sleep or every time you reload the game. NPCs are…

A really exciting concept of a game that has sadly been abandoned. It is very buggy with no updates for about three years and no more in sight.

It's a good, well-designed game. The only thing that I find that should be improved in this game is the display size of the windows, menu and writings of the game, because I find that everything is written much too small, it is difficult to read, when sitting far from the screen, I am 3 feet from my screen and I have difficulty reading the writings in the game correctly. Otherwise apart from that for everything else I have nothing to say, it's a good game. I recommend this game.
