Corona Blossom Vol.3: Journey to the Stars is a visual novel developed by Frontwing and serves as the final chapter of the Corona Blossom trilogy. The story continues following R-ne, the alien girl made of metal, and her human friends as they confront the consequences of the previous volumes. This final installment resolves the main emotional and narrative arcs, shifting tone from lighthearted comedy to a more serious, heartfelt conclusion. Gameplay remains traditional for the genre—reading dialogue, making limited choices, and progressing through linear story branches. The player’s role is to experience the narrative rather than influence it heavily. It functions as an interactive novel rather than a game with challenge or strategy. The writing focuses on friendship, belonging, and the idea of home. It balances humor with emotional closure, giving more depth to returning characters. While the pacing is slower than in earlier entries, it provides satisfying resolution for fans invested in the series. Visually, Journey to the Stars maintains the same high-quality anime art as the earlier volumes. Character designs are colorful and consistent, with expressive CG scenes highlighti…1 found this helpful
I would rename this trilogy as "Corona Bosom", for obvious reasons. Corona Blossom is a trilogy of kinetic visual novels, developed by Frontwing. For simplicity purposes, this review will account for all three games. I was really on the fence whether this game would earn my recommendation or not, for reasons I will detail later, but at the end, this series of games really grew on me. As tradition by now, I'll mention the positives first. These games use the same system of animation as the Nekopara games (they even use the same engine), to good effect. The character models are very expressive, and they have some funny and well done animations. I won't be so hard on art direction, since these are games from 2016, or at least, released here on 2016. Sound design is good but the music, while technically good, can be a bit repetitive in some scenes, and sometimes doesn't match the tone and the context of the scene. The voice acting is excellent, with fantastic and believable deliveries, the player can switch between Japanese, Simplified Chinese and English text on the fly, and there is even a jiggle physics slider. I said at the start that this game should be named "Corona Bosom",…1 found this helpful
the best VN ever!
Developed by Frontwing and published by Frontwing USA, Corona Blossom Vol.3 Journey to the Stars delivers the final chapter of a trilogy that has steadily blended romance, science fiction, and heartfelt storytelling into a memorable visual novel experience. Rather than introducing an entirely new conflict, this installment focuses on bringing every major storyline to its natural conclusion, allowing players to witness the culmination of the journey shared by Keiji Osaki, the mysterious alien lifeform R-ne, and the friends who have stood beside them. The narrative carries a stronger emotional weight than its predecessors, emphasizing promises, loyalty, and the difficult choices that arise when personal happiness clashes with a greater responsibility. As the truth surrounding R-ne's origins and destiny comes into focus, the story steadily builds toward a finale designed to reward players who have followed the series from the beginning. The writing remains the game's greatest strength, placing its characters at the center of every important moment. Keiji's determination to protect R-ne and help her fulfill her dream creates a compelling emotional anchor, while R-ne herself continues …
Even after all of this, my love for Yunie still won't falter
It does not seem like there are any technical changes compared to the previous volumes so I will not get into that. As usual the story continues from where volume two stopped. A good bit of time is spent on the bad twist just to add another bad twist on top of it which never gets a proper in-universe explanation. In fact, it gets even more out of whack when a third twist gets added on top of the previous two later. Chapters after this are mostly good at least. While R-ne's conclusion in itself was great I really was not a fan of the canon love pairing and the rest of the cast mostly got the short end of the stick. The lack of even a slap on the wrist for a certain someone was insulting as well. This could have been amazing if it was choice based. Regarding the H-scenes for patch owners, one I found meh but the rest were good. Overall, I am putting this one slightly above volume two but to me it was only worth reading because of R-ne and it is the only reason not ranking it last. Volume one is still the best by far.
