About When Stars Collide

When Stars Collide is a science-fantasy adventure romance story. In the game, the player joins the crew of The Ophelia, a deep space exploration vessel as they uncover a trove of technology from a nearly forgotten species. Unaware that, among the items they unearth is an inhabited stasis pod, the crew recovers the found items but inadvertently awakens the occupant of the pod in the process.Upon awakening, Wil Nymera, a young interstellar wanderer, discovers they've been asleep for nearly 500 years. With nowhere else to go, Wil temporarily joins the crew after revealing they are Veleian, an ancient species known for their telepathy, advanced technology, and tendency to either guide younger races toward betterment - or else obliterate them.As Wil attempts to settle in and restart their life after a 500 year nap they did not intend to take, the crew of The Ophelia find themselves caught in a struggle between ancient powers and newer factions eager to get their hands on Veleia's tech and a centuries old secret buried in the depths of Wil's mind.

Great story, good characters, lots of choices and achievements to get. When I first played I didn't expect the game to be so good since it is free, but I was pleasantly surprised. Each character has their own quirks and issues, so they feel more human than how other games may be. Surprisingly, getting bad endings has proven more challenging for me than good endings. I have gotten most achievements, but those bad ends are a little tricky. Mostly Ashers so far. Needed a break after multiple failures. There is a lot of good worldbuilding as well. My only complaint would have to be character customization. Since there are CG's that actually include MC, the limited choices are understandable. Personally I hate 90% of the hairs tho. I only liked about 3? You get a couple of face choices, one I guess is supposed to be more manly? I went for the finer features tho. You can choose gender, pronouns and body type which is good. Only two hair colors, but that seems to be linked to MC's race to make them more recognisable I think. My fav character was of course Kav, but the rest are decent. All in all, I highly recommend this game, especially for people who enjoy male characters, since al…

This is one of the best visual novels I have ever played. Only recently discovered it through the recommendation of a friend, I was skeptical at first, thinking the LIs all looked kinda the same. But upon diving in, I couldn't have been more wrong. The world is rich, the characters are all distinct with their own unique paths, and I thoroughly enjoyed learning new tidbits about the MC and the other characters with every run. It's baffling the devs aren't charging for this. Try it, entirely worth your time.

This is one of the best visual novels I have ever played. The story is absolutely fantastic; I would love to see a bigger rpg game or a novel or a series or something more in this universe, because the worldbuilding is top-notch. It's rare that I find myself this invested in a story, and the fact that it comes along with what is primarily a 'romance' VN is both a surprise and a joy. Yes, this is predominantly a linear VN - apart from the very last couple of chapters (which are similar), each LI's route has largely the same beats - you choose who you're going planetside with, who to sit with, etc. but you still do those in each route - but each character choice (and MC decision) has a way of making the different versions feel... unique. Granted, I do use the skip button on seen dialogue after the second route, but even then I sometimes find myself reading through stuff I've already read before just because the different LI choices make even something I've seen before feel different. Each route gives you different information about the world; once I'm done with all the LI routes (we'll see if I can manage the non-LI routes, but I think it would feel too bad to leave my [i]nashir[…

Incredible story and exceptional quality, especially for free

working on finishing all the routes, but i love the two i've done so far. I seriously was not expecting to love this as much as I did considering the very low price tag of free. I wish I had been able to support it by purchasing it, so I might go over to itchio later and do so. great main character, i love the little bantering and heart between the interactions, I like how even side characters have their own purpose and background. Anything I might have to complain about or only personal little preferences, but I can feel how much love went into this. I LOVE THE PROLOGUE AND THE CUBE SCENE GETS ME EVERY TIME IT'S JUST SO DAMN COOL. I'm trying to convince all my friends to play, and will not stop until they've been exposed to how amazing this vn is too.

I absolutely ADORE this game. The characters, writing, and worldbuilding is absolutely brilliant and so so so good. The fact that this game is fully finished and remains free is astounding because I would absolutely drop money 1000 times over to buy this game. Even with all of the words in the English language, I will never be able to accurately say how much I recommend this game to anyone who enjoys visual novels. Edit: I played all the routes and OH MY GOD THEY'RE ALL SO GOOD. The amount of times I was in giggles or just losing it over how absolutely fantastic the routes are and the differences between all of the LIs is just so so good. This game and all of the LIs will be living rent free in my head for years to come.
