About Himawari - The Sunflower -
Even though the crash of a spaceship left you without memories or parents, you still couldn't stop dreaming about the stars. As you spent your days trying to build a rocket to the moon with your best friend - the son of a key astronaut who died in a tragic accident - your stargazing catches the crash of another space vessel, and your rescue of the girl within sets in motion a story leading into the future and drawing on your forgotten past.
Can you confront your past mistakes? Accept those of others?
What secrets await on the moon? With each new chapter, the characters gain more depth and more is revealed about this world set in 2050. While there is light-hearted romance to be found, the full stories and growth each character will stick with you long afterward. All the characters are voiced - even the protagonist - featuring talent such as Tamura Yukari, Nonaka Ai, Kawasumi Ayako, and more.

some say Himawari has a slow start and it's true. Potentially the first 10 hours in you might not take it seriously and wonder if it's worth the time. But once you progress deep enough, the story starts to get really good and will leave you speechless. A lot of points that didn't make sense will connect making you realize everything in the writing has a purpose. one of the best VNs out there which makes it that much more unfortunate how unknown it is. If you're a VN reader you'd do yourself a great favor in giving this a chance.3 found this helpful
This is a solid visual novel, but it takes awhile for you to feel that way. I was the closest I've ever been to dropping a visual novel in the first route because it was uninteresting, predictable, and not particularly funny since all of the humor just goes to the same well of anime/manga/vn romance cliches. However, things shift in a big way after that first route, and the story turns into a science fiction epic of sorts, although I think the story's characters are it's strong point, as opposed to the science fiction plot which definitely has a few holes. I recommend reading it if good characters are what you really value in your visual novels, but if you're mostly a science fiction aficionado, it'll probably disappoint you.2 found this helpful
This ended up being the pure cancer I thought it would be. Plodding story bogged down by 'best friend is a girl that will tease the crap out of you' typical dialogue that just makes my eyes glaze over. Literally the first chance two girls are together in one room and it starts. I lost interest then and there. I've spent my whole life with no friends, never had a girlfriend, always being the one getting teased. I'm not wasting my life playing these types of games any more. Idling for my last card then its bye-byes.1 found this helpful
