In an alternative universe a cosmic creature from vast space appeared before humanity. This being granted its power to mankind, and quickly became a god to them. What we knew as the industrial revolution came to be known as the golden era.
Unfortunately their god wasn't so benevolent. After 200 hundred years, corruption started to spread and consume every living thing on its path. In this new age humanity, now on the brink of extinction, formed a new organization to fight back against this plaque of destruction.

✦ AI summary
Cosmic Purge is a student project that players find technically rough and confusing, with complaints about unintuitive movement controls, limited enemy variety, and persistent bugs. While some appreciate the enemy design concepts, the overall execution feels incomplete, with gameplay issues like dead enemies still dealing damage and unclear mechanics that detract from the experience.
Cosmic Purge is one of literally thousands of student projects infesting Steam. While student projects tend to be better quality than most "amateur" made games, we must still question what value such projects have for gamers. As with all student projects, this isn't really a fully fleshed out game, it's just the result of an academic exercise, and as such it has much more limited value as a game than a professionally developed game would have. Educational institutions should not be using Steam as a dumping ground for homework assignments (especially if the students didn't even pass the course). Sure, it helps their marketing and helps the students feel good about themselves, but this is another case of a business putting themselves before the needs of gamers. In this case instead of low quality, we have the other problem with student projects... this isn't really a full game, you can finish it in less than half an hour. Basically teasing gamers with something that might have been, but isn't. Why is that good for gamers? Oh yeah, it's not. This was made for the students, not for you. That's a problem. The graphics in this game are really quite good, which at least makes t…2 found this helpful

why?
the game movement is not the best. the weapons do feel different. the enemies have cool designs but there are not enough different looking enemies. even if an enemy is dead they will still hurt you if you touch them.
